Couldn't agree more. Seems like a lot of playing around and not mich testing. Which is what you'd expect given a look at the alpha/beta testers. Asobo was clearly more interested in what the gamers had to say than what the pilots had to say, who of course can't say anything about it.

In one breath you say it's about "what the gamers had to say" (which isn't true, I was in the Alpha and the amount of "gamers" commenting and reporting bugs was basically non-existent, it was all simmers). Then you complain that they didn't hand-craft a specific airport, which is a very gamey thing to complain about.

The focus of MSFS is much more world-wide than FSX. The old stomping grounds like TNCM are not necessarily areas they spent time with, though they did do St. Barts. At the same time, there's a lot more to see in Asia and you can actually fly in Africa now out of the box. Europe had a bigger focus than past iterations as well. It was a resource allotment choice, not the developers just cutting corners on purpose at your preferred airport.

I think complaints are fine. I think the hyperbole and unwillingness to see context is silly.

You do you my guy. Complain away and completely ignore any and all context that it's an ortho, which I was trying to provide you so you understood it's not the developers just not wanting to fix it but a limitation of technology. You get the same thing in XP11 and P3D when you use orthos unless you draw the masks right on the short (But then you have no transition and shallow detail).

If you prefer the old land class ways and not having to deal with water masks, here: https://prepar3d.com/

X-Plane and P3D have the visual appeal of a tech demo from 2003, brah

We're end-users. At the end of the day, we couldn't care less *why* the boats are under water. We just care *that* the boats are under water. That doesn't mean we hate the whole sim or think P3d is a better visual experience because it doesn't have underwater boats. It means this sim has sunken boats and it would be kinda nice if it didn't.

It's OK to point out flaws. Sometimes people can point out flaws without thinking that the whole thing sucks. You're getting entirely too angry over people pointing out legitimate flaws. Even if those flaws are a result of the revolutionary technology employed in the sim, they're still flaws.

None of my initial responses were to you. They were to the OP so I'm not sure why you keep responding to them. I really don't have time to get into three tiered arguments. You may have levity, but I wasn't talking to you.

Some of these comments..... I spent about 3 hours last night fooling around with MSFS 2020. And it is incredible in my opinion, the graphics, performance (tried GA and Airliners) and the actual feeling of flying for me was spot on. Every sim... every single one has it’s downfalls and perks. Give this one time, just like we gave X-plane, P3D and DCS time and before you know it we will be posting stunning pictures approaching some random airport in a PMDG airplane with 3rd party atc....

be thankful we have another sim to fool around with!

You mean the OP who said the visuals are quite good and they're sure the first update will bring lots of improvements and the sim has lots of potential?

I first replied to you because this is a public forum and that's how public forums work. After that I replied to you because you kept quoting me at which point you were talking to me.

If you only want to have an angry fight with the OP without anyone else chiming in, that should be done in PM.

That was a very small part of the many things the OP said, the majority being the bugs so numerous they would need spray to fix (not totally unreasonable), concluded with an assertion that the many people who said MSFS would be perfect now look pretty stupid.

Now seriously, did even ONE person say it would be perfect? Or is that perhaps a ludicrous exaggeration?

The lack of ATC and your pilot voices really bothers me!

Couldn't tell you who, but yeah, I did see some people talking about how perfect it would be. There were even a number of people who said they deleted p3d a week or more before MSFS released because the new sim was going to be so great that they'd never need to use it again.

Many of us knew that this thing would have lots of bugs. I even commented a few weeks back that it was basically going to be a beta release, and that it's not really OK that charging full price for beta releases is now the standard, but it is and we have to live with it. But a few were insistent that MS was releasing a fully polished sim from the get-go and those same people were ready and eager to bash it for any perceived flaws including the fact that the tubeliners aren't PMDG-level planes.

There's ridiculousness on both sides, and insisting that underwater boats aren't underwater because (mumblemumbletechnicalreasonsnoonecaresabout) is just as inane as assuming the sim would be perfect out of the gate.

Some of the "stuff" is not actually stuff, i.e. you complaining about p-factor when you push the throttle up on takeoff in a 152.

Left-turning tendency seems fine to me. If you don't use enough rudder in real life, it will absolutely veer left and go off the runway immediately. It's not a subtle thing.

See this is where I realize you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. The 152 has a 100HP engine. If you think a 152 is going to "veer left and go off the runway immediately" on the application of full throttle with no right rudder, you are clearly absolutely clueless. And I mean clueless.

Ok, could you provide just one quote from somebody who said either a) the sim will be perfect, or b) it will be released without bugs?

Actually, it's 110 hp. But you are welcome to go show your piloting prowess by videoing yourself using no rudder on takeoff in a real 152.

I'm just a CPL-IR. What do I know? I'm done with this conversation.

Is everyone aware that you can get the standard edition on gamepass, for like, a dollar?
