Only about 1,000 people on the P3D forums in the last 6 months.

Never been on those forums, so can't say for sure but that seems made up.

- ATC doesn’t make any sound. It talks in the dialog box, no sound out of the speakers.

You need to install the English (US) language pack as mentioned during the install process and you need to make sure it's at the top of your installed languages list as stated in your Settings - Language screen.   That'll fix that.

But the people who absolutely hammered the initial release of P3Dv5 and told the world that MSFS would be perfect (and there were a LOT of you) are looking pretty stupid right now.

The people who were hammering the initial release of P3Dv5 included a lot of people who bought it, and were frustrated with the state it was released in. Sound familiar?

Yeah, I tried to argue that having pilots instead of gamers in the alpha and beta was a good idea. I was poo-poo’d for that suggestion.

Oh please, like you were the lone voice of reason crying against the word not allowed masses. Clearly LOTS of ‘pilots’ were screaming from the rafters that they, and only they, should be allowed to gatekeep the hallowed ground of testing a new sim.

Thank you, will do!

But those people insisted it would not happen with MSFS.

And speaking of "oh please," notice I said that I thought pilots should have been part of the testing, not me (although I am a pilot). Probably 99% of the flight bugs could have been identified by any halfway decent pilot in the course of an hour. But they left it GTA experts. Oh well.

Also, if you’re using azure voices, there are some problems....... add it to the list of other stuff that needs a quick hotfix. Like the weather.

just too many unrealidtic expectations. for me its reall good, jsut low flying vfr, bush

Asobo had access to pilots straight from the companies at times or owners of aircraft. Access to pilots was never an issue.

No, you’re already trying to walk back what you actually said, which was that pilots should have been used instead of gamers, not that they should have been part of the testing. They absolutely were part of the testing.

There were pilots in the alpha program, many of whom posted their detailed findings on the forum.

Hyperbolic complaints on a forum about p-factor and such are hard to discuss. It doesn’t seem overdone to me, and yes, I’m a real pilot. I think the rudder sensitivity is the bigger issue on takeoffs.

Also, boats are not underwater. What that is is the masking of the ortho and the piers and boats show up. The AI can not yet place objects there.

Given all the graphical fidelity, I find that hard to hold against ASOBO. Some things are still limited by technology.

Best thing to do is put your reports on Zendesk. The more time people complain about a specific issue the more likely it will bubble up to the software engineers.

Other than that think flight dynamics is basically XPlane about 20 years ago. There are lots of issues that is going to take time to get right. This is what happens when to change from a tried and true system to something new.

BTW, it’s not “p-factor” that’s causing the left turning tendency on the initial takeoff roll. It’s torque. P-factor is what causes adverse yaw at high angles of attack, i.e. the climb or in a tail wheel aircraft. That’s why the plane requires even more rudder after rotation. P-factor is definitely not overdone in the climb.

If we are gonna rant about “real pilots” and the flight model, let’s at least get our terms right.

I had to turn the joystick sensitivities WAY down to make MSFS fly "normal". I put the sliders almost all the way to the left. Felt wrong doing it but I flew the alpha that way for several months and really enjoyed it.

I would have loved to see the comments from people who post in here about Sublogic's Flight Simulator 1 release. Hey! that river has all straight lines and perfect 45 degree angles. And the water textures are missing! 🤣
