Of course not.  He was too busy navigating.  You know... flying!  😄  Because when you start flying in the sim instead of just playing with it, those things aren't noticeable and don't matter.

Congrats, Gunther!  Here's to a long and wonderful trip.  Please keep us posted.

Wait, wut?

92% of the point of MSFS is that it looks good. If MSFS’s graphics aren’t beautiful, it’s failing at its key job.

I’ve been flying the cub a lot lately, but that’s because the sim is pretty rather than because I love the dodgy ATC, limited physics* or the psychotic active pause feature!

What can I say, i’m a sucker for a good-looking sim world. But for those who don’t care about eye candy, x-plane and p3d v5 are better platforms right now.

* - I’m thinking ground loops here. I just read that you can’t ground loop the cub. I wouldn’t know because i’ve been trying hard to avoid this (as one does). I had assumed that my lack of prop-vs-ground episodes was because i’m a sierra hotel pilot, but it sound like it might just not be a thing. 🙂

Well said Gunther, spot on!! I have a 10 year old pc.. i5 3.30Ghz, Nvidia 1060 6GB and 16GB Ram...I am able to fly the TBM on high settings  ... it runs pretty well mostly, me too looking forward to a new rig maybe sometime next year but for now I will put up with the odd stutter etc, its a fantastic sim for sure and it will improve as time goes on............great post!!!

😃I flew in South Dakota Chamberlain 9V9 to 8DF Murdo with MSFS 2020 brings some great improvements to fly over country.  These places alot simmers overlook, but get trees and buildings in correct makes big difference in immersion. With MSFS 2020 its flyover country gets biggest boost for new sim.

aye , I am doing a round the world trip right now in 172 skyhawk no cheats , time, fuel , weather or weight in MSFS and it's amazing 🙂

Well, when you're flying along, following your course on skyvector.com, and the chart shows a solar farm, you look out and actually SEE a solar farm!  I can't describe what this is like.  They're usually in desert terrain and that is gorgeous in MSFS.

Then there are the wind farms.  Incredible.

Unless said solar farm or windmills are all grunged up somehow, you aren't likely to notice any problems in the scenery.  There will still be occasional anomalies, but you end up too busy to notice them, or to care if you do, because you'll be busy navigating.  This is what I mean by flying instead of playing with the sim.

Of course if you're flying on autopilot following a magenta line and don't need to navigate, any minor error might be obvious.  Serves you right. 😄

If you want to ground loop your aircraft all day long, try out IL2. It has great ground handling modeling.

In MSFS??

If I was on autopilot trying to follow the magenta line, i wouldn’t have time to admire the scenery, i’d be busy trying to stop the sim from killing my pax!

And, “Hey virtual pax - shall we do this 12-hour flight in real time, or speed it up a bit so we can play ‘rollercoaster simulator’”. 🙂

The airliners are rubbish right now, I’m sticking to GA atm which has mainly been flying a bit too low in the cub and the C172.

I have most of the IL-2 modules, don’t recall any ground loops, hey maybe I am sierra hotel after all! 🙂

LOL. I purchased premium Deluxe for all the extra goodies. Haven't even loaded a tubeliner, or checked out any of the included airports. Just vfr in a Cessna is keeping me excited.

I feel the same. I cant go back to having generic textures and generic cities anymore.

Haha "Airboeing", I like it 😄

But yes, this feels like the King of GA VFR (I dont own it, just going by YTs) sims and I can tell it excels  at that!
