Not by MFS standards. If they bring their existing models into MFS, it will look totally out of place and inferior. Kind of how Orbx did with their London Landmarks.

You will never be so happy to be so wrong. 😄

That is great news! Especially the part where the dev thinks it will be relatively painless to move aircraft over from FSX.

Just as a point of order, that isn't what was stated above.  Instead, they are looking at it to see what level of effort it would take, and the possibility of a best-case scenario.

They do a lot of their own flight model processing, don't they?  I know the J3 Cub seems to have a lot of custom flight model in it.

I think they do the hook-in via simconnect thing.

Thanks for the HU, Larry. Just posted there to show my appreciation. Do it guys, they need to see their customers behind their change of direction.

For those not familiar with A2A aircraft, they make some of the best general aviation aircraft available.  They also make WW2 warbirds and the Constellation.  Check their store page under Prepar3D as those will be the aircraft ported over.

They are currently working on an Aerostar for P3D and likely for MSFS as well.  I know Scott will want to port his personal aircraft, the Comanche.  This may be the most accurate plane in their entire hangar.

The GA aircraft also have a walk-around pre-flight inspection and maintenance hangar with persistent wear.  They are as good as it is possible to get.

Oh trust me, with A2A on board MSFS will become a must-have.  It's not going to matter how long it takes to get everything else in MSFS fixed as long as we have A2A aircraft to fly.  Anyone complaining about default aircraft performance details should be very happy indeed.

I really hope they don't just port over their existing fleet, but start from scratch. Especially the exterior and interior modeling and textures. At least make it on par with the default planes in MFS if not better. I wouldn't accept anything less than that when it comes to the visuals of the plane.

Me too but one thing at a time. They were on a ‘lets do the Aerostar first and we’ll see afterwards’ to a ‘we have begun to have a hard look at bringing our stuff  to Asobo’s world’.

Also, being a little selfish, I tend to think that if they don’t do it now, I’ll never see my beloved 51 or T6 in FS20.

At least two of my  A2A general aviation planes support in dash the Flight 1 GTN 650 and 750 GPS units. I wonder if they would be allowed /able to implement the same situation for MSFS 2020? It would make a great addition to the base systems we already have.

I'm wondering if they will be using the simulator's new flight model or attempt to port their own Accu-sim model.

In my experience, A2A doesn't compromise and they don't do things half-baked - I cannot see them deviating from what they have always done, which is their own flight modelling separate from the sim. It is part of what makes their stuff so good and also with such excellent performance.

I know the Aerostar is supposed to introduce the next-gen of their Accusim platform, it sounds like maybe they might be looking to see if they can bring things over with the current Accusim platform earlier while they work on the Aerostar.

No matter, anything A2A does will be high-quality or they won't do it.

It was even worse than that before.  Scott was not exactly enthusiastic about making aircraft for MSFS.  I think people don't understand what a major breakthrough this is for all of us A2A fans.

And not a single glass cockpit to be seen! 😄 That's reason enough in itself!

I just hope they are able to take advantage of the 1k point of reference flight model and don't just give us a pretty AC with FSX improved Flight Model!

I would really like to see this new flight model put to good use!

I concur.  Many of the textures from P3D don't look right in the new sim.  I'd be happy to wait and pay for a new product.  These default MSFS aircraft set the standard for textures....they're insane.

That was my thought, this is a great shift in optimism from A2A which is great for us.  Given what a wonderful VFR experience this sim can provide I’m looking forward to having A2A GA aircraft more than ever.

The developers of the GTNs would need to have their product available for MSFS.  My guess is that RealityXP are feverishly working on this.
