In fariness to your question...I put a disclimer that my post should really be directed to the G.A. side of simming, and not towards those running tubes with complex system emulation. That's fair! I hear ya...so did. For G.A., and pointedly, for G.A. that comes with any of the three versions of MSFS, one can run the sim with 8 GB's of system RAM...and even a 6GB G.C. ...and not have to run it with sewer settings... For those wanting tube fidelity...true..that's another story...but most tuber's already know they need a $$$ system to provide their brand of satisfaction. Most do...:) Edited August 21, 20205 yr by Sesquashtoo
August 21, 20205 yr Enjoying this thread! I am just preparing to leave Brampton for Parry Sound and then will do a series of many hops to all of the small airfields and bush strips I can find along the coast of Georgian Bay. Later next week I will make it into SSM for a break before continuing on along the coast of Superior to Thunder Bay. Then I will do the same, hopping town to town as I follow highway 17 to the 101 to Timmins. I am really enjoying the simulator -- it seems clearly not ready for the big jets but I am finding a lot of enjoyment going back to the basics in GA and visiting all these small towns in my home province! I was pretty emotional about this yesterday and the day before because my performance was way worse than during the Alpha. What I did in the meantime: 1. Turn off OC 2. Turn on HT 3. Turn off Rolling Cache 4. Limit fps at 30 with Riva Tuner 5. Set NVIDIA Vsync to adaptive 6. Turn Vsync and fps limiter off in the sim. With settings at high, trees and grass on medium, Terrain and Objects at 150, Render Scaling at 90, 4K screen resolution, AI Traffic on, this brings me a steady 30fps with the TBM in fine weather over Southern France. CPU between 65 and 75% loading, GPU close to 100%. i7-7700K and 2070 Super. With your specs things should work better. Maybe try my steps and settings if you like. Ses seems to have the magic touch. Good to read your post...doing the exact same thing...flying over (to check out this Bing/Azure marriage...lol) all the places we bike to..and as well, camp in our T.T. So far..I am pretty amazed, that the building footprints..are there....like for instance...take off from Wawa....turn right...and you will see below you the Wawa Inn just exactly where its foot print on the cut-off into town is...and then if you know Wawa...check out the building foot print for the grocery store...the LCBO...the Beer Store...the lumber yard...man..it's all there...and then take a flight out over the lake...and check out where the helicopter tours are staged..as you head out on 101....yep...its there..including their small four slip marina...I have swam in that lake...fished in that lake...canoe'ed in that lake...and every bay, every inlet...is perfectly modeled...amazing. I am going to fly over 101 VFR...and take in Chapleau...as we also myself and friends fill our freezer in October...from that area...it will be fun to see what main street looks like,,,near the R.R. tracks...:)

On my system...pretty much with the way I have always stoked P3D and XP11...and same for MSFS...I can pretty much only get around at the top...37 FPS. Now..I did have stutters in P3D, but I feel that was ESP based. In this sim...as I stated, no stutters of any kind..for I don't drop at length nor stay as you would suspect at 22...that is the flush bowl but only drops there over some cities like Greater Detroit..( but fluctuates, doesn't stay beaten down there) try that one at Ultra...:) So...all good...if I don't see animation stops and starts...truly the FPS meter is of no more concern . I don't run with it now in MSFS, but only had it on, to show what I was referring to... Edited August 21, 20205 yr by Sesquashtoo

Why this was released in its current state is beyond me. Strange. I have same specs as you apart from a 10900K processor running at 5Ghz. I have butter smooth performance on Ultra setting. August 21, 20205 yr @Sesquashtoo I remember your posts on XP11 about what a game changer it was to fly in ortho in XP. In fact, this was why I started to download available ortho and overlays....then moved on to make my own. Bryan Wallis aka "fltsimguy" Maple Bay, British Columbia Near CAM3
August 21, 20205 yr It actually started many years ago with Tile Proxy, streaming orthos. It took a long time to commercialize it but I was pretty sure that was coming. I would not be surprised if somebody else tries it again and maybe even improves it. Competition is good for business. Hans

There has to be a problem with your setup that is of course not your fault or some bug that perhaps only shows up using certain combinations of drivers or something. I have a 9700 non-K, 16GB RAM and a 2060 on an SSD (comparable, but slower than yours in every way) and mine works perfectly (at 1080p). And most of my flying has been in cities like San Francisco and London. It was released in its current state, by the way, because it works perfectly well for the vast majority of users. Go to the MSFS forums and report your problem with as much detail as you can. They have a big patch coming out on the 27th, by the way. P.S., One person in another forum who had just bought a PC to run MSFS reported very similar results to yours and eventually discovered that he had plugged his monitor into the motherboard instead of his expensive video card meaning that he was using the CPU's GPU (Intel 630). And yes, that would be a stuttering mess even on a i9-10900k! Edited August 21, 20205 yr by SeanMo

If you are expecting to run at 200fps like in F1 2019, you'll need to get a flux capacitor, a 1982 Delorean, and approximately 1.21 gigawatts of power, and go to the year 2029 and bring back a machine capable of running such a simulation at those framerates, gamer. This isn't a car racing game. It's a flight simulation.

August 21, 20205 yr I agree with Mitch that 28fps is fine. Put it this way.....I would rather have 28fps and full detail than 58fps with half of the custom objects and autogen missing.
