Apocalyptic Cities?!

Hi there,

I really don’t know how to better describe it, but almost all of the larger cities look like a scene from the walking dead, almost as if a nuke had been set off.

I haven’t been able to capture a screenshot, so before I do, has anyone else seen this. I’m not sure it’s my bandwidth, but changing from high to ultra helps a bit, but then performance tanks.

Right now the sim reminds me of FSX, where the sharpest textures were mostly behind you.....

Cheers,

Pete

Same here, Settings ultra 45fps, brandwidth 600Mb symetric fiber, and the cities are like you describe most of the times.

Is the same load with or without cache, i ythinks is a aproblem of server saturations, because sometimes load well, this is for me more constatnt since Sunday; i have open a tucket but no answer since three days ago.

You must open a ticket support too.

Cheers.

I've also witnessed the same and am certainly sure it's a server side issue. I've flown over the same areas and certain days the photogrammetry is rendered fully and other days it takes forever to render. Whatever it is, I really hope they can fix the server side issues asap so that we don't need to rely and wait for an official update or patch.

It's a server/backend issue. It's been going on for a few days now.

A few days?  Since they came out of tech alpha.

Why doesn't cache work in this scenario? Isn't that exactly what cache is for? Hope they fix this issue soon.

Cache does work as an option just the same I haven't notice this since I started using a hard line to my computer.  WiFi with this sim just didn't work.

Alienware Aurora R11 10th Gen Intel Core i7 10700F - Windows 11 Home 32GB Ram
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super OC 16GB - Pimax Crystal Light VR

i just enable UPnP option in my router settings and i will try later in big city autogen like NY or Tokio.

If there a good result i will post again, but i dont think so.

By te way, i opened the ports in my router 4 days ago and same issue. I think  i cant do anything for my side and fix for MS servers side.

It is a limitation of photogrammetry and has been a complaint since the alpha. Yet another reason I keep it off and prefer the AI cities if I'm not in an area I care about every little detail being right. AI cities are a much cleaner presentation IMO and still far better than any past sim.

I agree with you, but if there a sim connection problem i watch more burries near iarcraft position, nothing important but is there.

Thank you so much fellow fliers, at least now I know I’m not the only one. I have a 100gb connection, and I deleted and disabled rolling cache to eliminate stutters. Maybe I’ll turn it back on tonight.

Thanks again,

Pete

I’ve seem to have noticed a change also, the first few times I’ve used the sim trees looked good, same for cities. I haven’t touched the sim in a few days, tried today and downright looked like garbage! Trees looked like chunks (or big blocks)
