How to get rid of tug drivers?

Featured Replies

RL piston GA pilots: Have you ever, ever, EVER had a tug driver waiting patiently in front of your C172 or comparable, just itching to pull you anywhere you want to go?

Yeah, me neither. How do I turn off these guys and their scooters? I already tried setting the airport workers to zero, no affect.

I've never messed with it but try  Airport Vehicle Density and not the Airport Worker Density.

Is it done yet? When will it be released? Will it be freeware or payware? How much will it cost? Any updates on the progress? Will it work for Xbox? Can I be a beta tester? How's the performance in VR?

Why not just enjoy the first class service?

I hate getting all that gore on my windshield when I have to taxi through them.

Good idea but that didn't work either.

Just be glad they don't need tips in MSFS! 🙂

Nope, in fact I've never seen one of those little ride on tug things. I've always towed GA planes with either old agricultural tractors or cars, and airliners with typical pushback tugs. I dunno who thinks those little segway-esque things are at every airport, but they need to step away from the crack pipe ASAP.

Maybe if you turn on the rain or snow, they will leave.

Actually yes but he was running as opposed to waiting. I can assure you that if you try to taxi to the front door of any FBO at a really expensive area/airport it happens. The comment from him was "you'll need another $20mil to park there" 🙂

Luckily, is simple to get rid of them. However, settings are per aircraft.

Edit the AIRCRAFT.CFG file of the aircraft you want to customize services. Use Notepad for that.

Example of folder path, Caravan EX:

K:\fs2020\Official\OneStore\asobo-aircraft-208b-grand-caravan-ex\SimObjects\Airplanes\Asobo_208B_GRAND_CARAVAN_EX

Inside AIRCRAFT.CFG, find section SERVICES.

Put 0 for service you don't want. Put 1 for service you want.

Can someone make this mod so that it can be placed in the Community folder, that way it doesn't get overwritten with every update. Thanks for the discovery!

Make a backup of the config file.  Then make the edit(s) in the original.  When done copy it back to the same folder.  It will have the same filename but will be appended with "copy 1".  It should not get overwritten by updates because of it's unique filename.  Leave that in the folder to copy back into place after each update.  Also copy it to a backup location.  Then just make the copy back into place a pre-flight checklist item for after each update.

I often make a copy with a filename like "_aircraft.cfg" or "aircraft_.cfg.  An underscore at the front of the filename reminds me it was created before the most recent edit.  An underscore at the end of the filename reminds me its a copy I made after the most recent edit.

Been doing this since before Y2K  LOL!

Would copying the aircraft.cfg out and editing it and then placing it into the community folder with a folder structure as

208b\SimObjects\Airplanes\Asobo_208B_GRAND_CARAVAN_EX\aircraft.cfg

work?

I doubt it, but do not know for sure.
