Least broken most complete GA planes in MSFS2020?

Featured Replies

Are there any good ones to fly and navigate on Vatsim or Pilotedge without using extra moving maps or other outside apps? Including those being fixed by community?

Thanks.

The 172 G1000, I also really like the Mod'ed Bonanza G36, that's is my #1 atm

The two planes I am actually flying regularly are the 172 (still seems to have egt issues) and the Da62 for a little more speed.  The problem with the G1000 though is making any in flight changes to your flight plan is difficult (if not impossible).  I find I pretty much have to plan my flight in the flight planner and never change it.  If you are on Vatsim and some controller gives you an approach, I'm not sure if you can even get that to work right now (if anyone has, I would love to know).  You might be better off sticking with the steam gauge 172.

I'm hoping to try out the improved G36 too. I always enjoy twins so I do a lot in the Da62.  I haven't found any bugs that are specific to that plane, it just has all the ones that seem to hit all the planes (G1000 stuff).

I have been flying the Diamond DA62 and find it very nice, even on AP. Still need to gain some experience with the G1000 & AP flying IFR approaches. Believe it boils down to when the approach is activated.  PROC page, activate approach (not meaning here clicking APR on the AP).  Seems as if I pass the last flight plan fix before the approach IAF, it turns the aircraft around, heads it back to that previous fix, and may continue on from there flying the flight plan in reverse.  I believe if I then activate the approach a second time it begins to behave as it should.

May just be that the approach must be activated before that last fix rather than after but have not had time yet to try that out.  The DA62 does fly nicely and can cruise at 170 TAS, so I have seen GS nearing as high as 200 knots at 11,000 (when that 3 knots wind is a tailwind..... )

Thanks.

Specifically if you are looking to fly IFR on Pilot Edge, Most of the default GA planes (no mods) could work well enough under ICAO S (old FAA /A) equipment. Any sort of IFR GPS use may cause some issues unless you are ready to do a lot of reprogramming the GPS on the fly.

Sr22. I've used it for 2 x 100nm trip on vatsim with atc.

I'm assuming Nyxx is referring to this:

I tried the default when MSFS launched, and it felt very anemic and underpowered.

I will give this a try, sounds promising.

Been my go to. Like the keyboard for the G2000 is it? Looks like the 350i would be great if the Garmin was functional. Shame.

Yeah the default G36 will fall out of the sky at full power with full flaps.  The mod seems to put the power where you'd expect it to be.

Yes that's the one and it's like a new aircraft. Like Craig says above. It's by the numbers now.

I tried mod. It's better but still below actual Bonanza performance

Really, mine cruises at 170kts (2,500ft) with everything set to the real life manual. Per height and lean etc. But I have not taken her up above 10,000ft always below 6000ft for me ATM

I have carpal tunnel so I cant scroll and click my way through the g1000 aircraft very well.  That being said, I like the TBM, VLM, and X-cub. Touch screen avionics and a lot of systems modeled. The king air would be great if most of the systems were not (inop)
