Traffic liveries

Featured Replies

I'm sorry if this is a dumb question but... is there a pack that exists for AI liveries? I've downloaded the mega one, but it only seems to give more flyable aircraft liveries.

Am I missing something? Any hope of having a Southwest plane not looking yellow and green?

there is a post on here somewhere that talks about how you assign liveries for the AI aircraft and I have done that.  Essentially I was able to assign some the of 'flyable' liveries (from the packs) to the AI.  Couple of things you may want to know, this requires that you edit an 'official' file (not a common directory drop).  Also, it seems that you can only assign up to 4 aircraft (at least for airliners).  I did that and tried to add an additional 5th one to see if it would work but it did not.  It was a simple HTML file adjustments that I did in notepad in about 10 minutes.

I posted here awhile ago how nice it would be to have like a TrafficGlobal program for FS, single click and bam... fully and reasonably populated airports.  Though I dont know for sure, but I would bet there is more than one payware group working on this now.

No, not really. The AI traffic is just randomly assigned to the liveries you have added to your sim. While it does look better than default, it's not realistic in any sense at all.

I hope the AI traffic liveries system is WIP. Because right now it's very disappointing. FSX managed this much better, from the airports parking spot information to the schedules...

It seems logical that the design intent was to introduce/allow real-world livieries to go along with the existing, in-built real-world traffic data. Perhaps not from MSFS since that may have been a copyright issue but I expect 3rd party developers to have something someday. It took years for FSX to have a multitude of tools and enhancements so we have to expect MSFS will also take time to get there.

This is kind of what you are looking for. However, there's only 4 airlines. I wish somebody would follow up, adding more.

Yep, that would be exactly it, thanks. Maybe I'll take a look at those files and see how hard it would be to port the textures from the Megapack to be used with that mod. I've never done this kind of thing so most likely this will all come to nothing 🙂

But I am surprised there's been so much action on the flyable aircraft front, with almost nothing for AI. Personally, the latter is more important for immersion at airports since I rarely use the exterior view and mostly fly GA.

Thanks, i'll see whether I can trace back that post.

With the amount of livery related freeware popping up, I am really puzzled nobody followed up on this...

Even when you set the icao_airline = to the correct airline, the AI still doesn't use the correct livery. I've got all of the correct codes set for the 300+ A320Neo liveries and while they do show up as AI it's still very random.

Will have to wait and see what Asobo do down the road to help us out on this one.

I have liveries on my AI airlines, I have no idea how as all I've done is install one of the mega packs so I can fly using them - was never the intention to change AI.

No idea how realistic they are, or if they match the actual airline.

Like I said only just noticed and it's late - night night

Whhaaaattt? Are you serious? So when you sit at a gate, the AI planes around you have actual liveries (except United which have been around since the start)? I want to know your secrets!

The mega pack have AI liveries included which you can choose to install, at least for the A320 Neo.

System: I ASRock X670E | AMD 7800X3D | 64Gb DDR5 6000 | RTX 4090 | 2TB NVMe | Seasonic Vertex 1000W I LG Ultra Gear 34 UW I

Yes, the Megapack brings the liveries to RW AI traffic, but they are placed randomly. I.e in EDDH Air New Zealand and in EFRO Air Tunisia..
