September 19, 20205 yr My report on the issue is: 1 the new Mooney from Carenado, I have not been able to turn on the gps or radio stack at all on any flight since it released. Not intermittent, doesn’t go out randomly, just doesn’t work. It is possible that I’m an id10t, and am missing some little gotcha, but this could also be the bug. Maybe. 2. I did one flight in the a320 where the eicas screens and the numbers on the mcp /autopilot went out. I adjusted the dimmers and they came back up, but this flight was before the patch, not after. 3. none of the other aircraft have done this to me so far.

That includes multiple aircraft. The video itself shows an aircraft with the variation of that avionics suite. It's not happening on the Cub, it's not happening on the C172 steam, it's not happening on the Icon and none of the tubeliner pilots have reported. It's not on the King Air....So I'm trying to narrow down the list of planes affected and find out what they have in common. And thus far, unless someone else says otherwise, it seems to be happening to those that have a variation of the G1000 installed in the aircraft. Is that not true? I get you now. The steam was mentioned on the first page but I cannot work out if this was a related issue or not.
September 19, 20205 yr Only issue I've had is that the centre screens of the A320 turn off sometimes, but those can turned back on by just turning the dial that controls them. Edited September 19, 20205 yr by Tuskin38

I've never seen a `game' continue to get more broken as the devs try to fix the release problems. Even to a casual this game is unplayable. Seriously. Whoever is in charge of QA should be fired.. Stevie Wonder would have noticed these problems. I guess you've never played a whole lot of Steam games. Ryzen 7 5800x, 64gb, 7900XTX 24gb

September 19, 20205 yr Just now, Tuskin38 said: That's a weird generalization. Steam is a platform, not a developer/publisher. Steam games. Did you understand the statement? Appears not. I have a library full of constantly updating games on the Steam platform which are done by developers just like Asobo/MS that get broke with patches and have to constantly be re-fixed. September 19, 20205 yr You All purchased a product, which is in BETA testing so these problems are to be expected. IF you want a bug free product - WAIT for the commercial, fully tested system to be released. You signed up to be TESTERS and Guinea pigs finding the problems - quit whining about having to do the the job you signed up for. PS - only some of my G1000 stuff goes dead - the display stays on but many of the push buttons and knobs become non-functional. September 19, 20205 yr For what it is worth, I do not have any controls controlled by the sim, everything is done by FSUIPC or LINDA, including the VR Insight MCP. I have NOT seen this avionics bug myself, although I have not extensively flown the aircraft for a long period of time in the same session. Every game/sim has issues. This isn't unique to MSFS. Plus since not everyone in the thread is having these issues, it's entirely possible none of the testers at Asobo had them either. Mods override base sim files for instruments, which likely causes a lot of these issues... Surprised nobody has commented on whether or not they have mods installed in their sim. It’s useful information. They did, very first post.
September 19, 20205 yr Quote I certainly didn't sign up to BETA test. What an utterly stupid post. Here are quotes from a number of news sources: Microsoft’s Flight Simulator 2020 will be getting a closed beta test at the end of this month (July), Microsoft and Asobo have revealed, inviting more people to sample and test the game ahead of a release planned for later this year. The closed beta will get under way on 30th July, with the pool of participants set to expand with a fresh wave of invitations going out to those that have registered for the current alpha tests. The testing is currently only underway on PC, but we’ll have to keep our fingers crossed for an Xbox One beta in the run up to its release. The team clarify that, “If you are currently an Alpha tester, you will be automatically granted access to the closed beta,” and that “If you are not currently an alpha tester, we will be sending out new invitations for the closed beta participation” to those that have already applied. It’s not known how the closed beta phase will affect the strict NDA that alpha testers are currently under. ****************************************** The new beta version of the game is scheduled to drop on July 30. Current alpha testers will be granted automatic access, while the company is also preparing a new wave of beta invites. Access to the beta is handled through the Xbox Insider program, which you can sign up for here. ****************************** Here is one from the official MS Flight Sim website ********************************** I am only interested in joining the beta; do I have to register to the Insider Program?
