okay and now we are getting a little sneaky in all of this.

Those of us who have both this bug and the new carenado M20 (which is particularly badly hit by this) are emailing carenado about this to try and get them on-board to get a solution and we have heard from one response that carenado are aware of the bug, have seen it happen and are chasing Microsoft/Asobo 🙂

Right now flying on the C172 G1000 since 45 mins. Trackir, flight following by Little NavMap and OnAir.

No avionics issues so far.

But I already had a few annoyances that could be barely related. ATC interaction on its own.. When starting to taxi my avatar decided to cancel the IFR plan. Took of VFR then on first freq change I reopened it. On flight it requested 2/3 times vectors to next point. Once I found the cruise level increase selection open in the ATC window.

Looks like the UI is sensing random keystrokes... I'm rather sure I was hands away most of the times (not all).

Never had before (second flight since last patch)

Same problems here. All failures turned off. C172 G1000 starts out with backup battery error on the PFD, and have to switch it to off from armed for the error to go away. About 30-60 minutes into flight MFD and autopilot turn off. Can only get back by turning avionics master off-on, but then MFD/AP turn off every 5-minutes.

C172 Analog, about 5-15 minutes into flight AP turns off and can't be turned back on. Simple controller extreme 3d pro only, No Mods ever. No problems before patch.

Edit: just tried the Caravan and FLC mode wouldn't stay engaged. Was able to set it with speed/alt prior to flight, but it turned itself off and blew past the set alt.

Flying to a VOR when suddenly.. Avionics abruptly fail, AP disengages the whole nine yards...  Nothing you can do except flip the avionics switch off then back on to correct it..  IF you're lucky. Some planes there is no recourse. You're simply left without avionics.  Only left to *wing it* or restart your flight. These kind of bugs are absolutely criminal and we shouldn't have to wait a month for it to "maybe" be fixed.

Had same issue in the KingAir 350 MFD went dark and AP failure

This is just a shot in the dark, but in the Controls settings there is an input for "Toggle Avionics Master", which is associated to the "Page Up" key on the keyboard. What happens if a person unbinds or clears the "Toggle Avionics Master" from the "Page Up" key?

Maybe somehow the "Page Up" key is getting a signal from the system to activate, therefore, maybe if a user clears or unbinds the "Page Up" key from the "Toggle Avionics Master" function then the issue is resolved.

Again, this is just a shot in the dark and perhaps someone could try it to see if this results in anything.

Good idea.. myself I have tried that..  deleted EVERY key input to Avionics and A/P and still happening, but thatks for the idea 🙂

I have tried that Rob..  took out everything and disconnected the USB cables..  used only keyboard and Mouse.  Same issue for me 🙂  Took everything out of the community folder as well.

To test the "phantom" keystroke theory, it'd be an interesting experiment to remove any keyboard bindings for shortcuts not being used...particularly any for avionics/battery power.

I just tried a flight in the Cessna 172 with the G1000 gps, and I didn't experience the Avionics bug, but the autopilot didn't work for me at all. Every time I tried to activate the autopilot the plane would dart off course, and Nav mode had my plane turning circles.

In the default planes, I have seen the autopilot suddenly veer off course and send me to the ground.  Interestingly, I have full control and can easily overpower the autopilot with the yoke and get myself back and level.  Turning off the autopilot and then turning it on again works for me.   Then things are OK, at least for a while..  This, and the avionics power off event, happen randomly and on some flights not at all..  Frustrating and puzzling..

My MFD has quit working on every aircraft with the G1000, since I updated.  Wish I could go back to the older version until they fix their update.

I'm one of the lucky ones who has not experienced this problem (yet), btw, I have not touched any files or installed any mods.
