September 23, 20205 yr Once its installed and working , will you still be able to use it if you lose your internet?

Yes, you just won't get things such as realtime live weather and real players etc. Obviously, but for offline flying with preset weather, it'll work fine. September 23, 20205 yr Moderator I was in the middle of a flight and my internet went down, just got a popup from MSFS that internet was disconnected and MSFS would continue in offline mode Flight continued with no problem and a few minutes later my connection was restored and everything went back to normal. Other than the popup notification I noticed no difference from the online flight. Vic RIG#1 - I9 14900K MSI Pro z790 RTX 5070Ti 40" 4K Monitor 3840x2160
September 23, 20205 yr Yeah, my internet's intermittent occasionally and all you get is a little red message box saying Data Connection Lost. At that point it'll freeze any real world weather you had and keep the METAR as it was, etc. Obviously you eventually 'fly out of' your Bing Data scenery and Photogrammetry (if you had it enabled) and end up in the basic scenery world. When it get's it back you get another message box saying re-established. The pain is if you start the game without an internet connection it asks you to insert Disk 1 although I'm not sure if the latest patch sorted that out. September 24, 20205 yr I have also got a popup Warning sign from MSFS that Data Connection vas lost for a couple of seconds both tonight and last night, I have never seen that before, so I will buy a ethernet cable to morrow and connect direkt to my computer from my router and see if it gets more stable. September 24, 20205 yr If you are in the middle of a flight and lose connection temporarily the local data will have already be streamed and you will likely not notice anything. If you are flying a region where you downloaded the local data to save internet bandwidth (or it was cached from last time you flew there) you also may not notice much difference. If you randomly decide to go to a new area you have never been like some obscure town in South America or something, you will be using the default scenery and then you will notice a difference.
September 24, 20205 yr My internet went down, and I couldn't run it because at startup the program asked for a disk.
September 24, 20205 yr A little bit off topic I already opened a thread, here https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/weird-issue-internet-msfs-2020/247114 Couldn't find a way to fix this I called my internet provider, they said, everything looks good I restored the default settings for the router They replaced it with another one, same model My internet speed is 1 Gbps A few hours ago, I updated a different flight simulator, about 8 GB The speed was 90 Mbps. No problem at all. Whatever I download, large files, I have no issues Only when MSFS 2020 is running No more Wi-Fi, nothing I tried even with another ethernet card, no luck And when this happens, I need to unplug - plug in the router, sometime 4-5 times. Can't understand that I gave up any hopes, I'm thinking about to change the internet provider, not sure if it's a good idea I replaced the DNS on the router, different DNS. No go. Disabled, enabled Teredo filter, on the router, didn't help I'm disappointed. Although they ( MS / Asobo ) reduce the LOD, it looks a bit weird now, I do like it, but I can't play it Edited September 24, 20205 yr by Sphynnx I9 12900k@ 5 GHz | 64 GB DDR5 | Asus Z790 | RTX 5090 | 8K Samsung Q900C 75" | VKB MK III PRO L | Virpil Throttle MONGOOST-50 | MFG Crosswind | TrackIR5

When i buy it , is there an option that i could download the whole world and cache or save it then that way i dont need internet no more , is that right? dont care about weather if i can just adjust it myself

September 24, 20205 yr Has anyone tried starting the game whilst all ready offline? I find the game won’t load without an active connection.

The sim looks like word not allowed offline outside of your cached scenery areas. Not a good sight.
