oh once again, pictures helps once again 😁, you were talking about the red indication at the top of the list (i thought it was something else).

that means something has changed in your community folder, you need to click on the little refresh button and it will be back to normal. If i understand correctly, it's not in red when you launch the sim and when you close the sim it turns red without any other action on your part ? You have maybe another tool or payware addon that touches that folder when the sim is running as so my tool will identify it as being 'modified', is that possible ? The tool will show that red message if it identifes something has changed in that folder (new file added / deleted / moved / renamed ...). You should try to identify at what time exactly it turns red, during gameplay ? when you launch the sim ? when you close the sim ? when you do something else? .. yeah hehe debugging is a full-time job 😁

and for the links if you get the error when creating one, send me the log, thank you.

If you want i can send you a link to the previous version, but i'm fairly sure that it will be all the same because those things were not touched.

thank you.

Does anyone know what it means when a mod shows up in all read font in the left pane?

Thanks.

hello Jose,

unless there is a bug (which is possible 😛), it should mean that you have 2 addons with the same folder name in 2 different folders of your addons structure.

When you create the link, it will end up in the community folder where there are no subfolder, so having two with the same name would not be possible. The idea to put that in red was just a warning so that the user is aware of that situation, but it's not a problem in itself, everything will still work, you just can't create a link for both folders because they have the same name.

Let me know if it's not clear enough or if you think you are experiencing an anomaly. Thank you

There a no folders with the same name. There are few mods that are showing the red font.

Let's start with this one:

oh thanks for the information, then there has to be a bug somwhere 😥

not sure how i can reproduce that on my end .. if i don't find something just by looking at the code, i will also probably send you a little debug version that will help me find out what's happening.

thanks again for your report.

There are a few airports that are showing up in all red. Don't sweat it. I'm only going to enable the mods that work via your utility. Then I'll just add the red font mods them to my main community folder. After testing the ones that showed up in red, I'll let you know which work in the main community folder.

for info, they will work even if they are in red, red is just a visual thing generated by my program, but it will not cause any problem with the link creation.

Both Windows and Bitdefender seem to think this programme needs disinfecting. Should I be worried?

hello @Espana Pete, if you downloaded it from flightsim.to, i can guarantee you that it's 100% safe (it's the only place i uploaded it to so you should get it from there). If you got it from elsewhere then unfortunately there is no guarantee because someone might have tampered the file.

here's a scan of the EXE file of the last version : https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file/32fc09467c1ce7a4ed5d8d44195a7e221d9cf628035fa60f1f06de7e292f6724/detection

what happens sometimes if your anti-virus/security software has some very 'high settings' maybe it will give false positive (for example for EXE that are not digitally signed). Can you maybe tell the exact message you are getting. Thank you.

I did indeed download it from flightsim.to and when I started the programme for the first time Bitdefender disinfected it (moved it into a safe place where it wouldn't run) and I had to reverse the process to enable it to run. I cannot tell you the exact message as now I have reversed it, it opens OK each time. The only problem I am getting now if that when I close the programme I get the message "The config file could not be saved, Please try to run as admin. Error, Access to the path C blah blah blah is denied"

not really sure what happened there with bitdefender.

when the programs closes for the first time, it will create a new folder in on your disk c:\programdata\msfs addons linker . This folder will store the program settings (otherwise you would have to enter them each time you start the tool). It looks like it can't do that on your PC and that's why you have the error. It's either bitdefender that does not let him do that, or the user account with which you are running the programme does not have sufficient rights to do so. Have you tried setting the program to 'run as admin' (right click on the EXE and then in the 'compatibility' tab there is checkebox called 'run this program as administrator'.

Hello Bad_T!
I am experiencing a strange issue with the latest version.
Although checked and thus in green, some mods are not linked.

Better than words, some pics!
😉

With v0.6, no problem linking the folder "GB" and its content.

With v0.7, linking doesn't work.
