December 25, 20205 yr Is there a way to edit the name of a current preset? I see how to edit what's in a preset, but haven't found a way to edit the name of the preset itself. James

If I go there I can rename a preset. Seems to work. To be safe, you could make up a new preset and then try renaming it. Al Edited December 25, 20205 yr by ark
December 25, 20205 yr Author @Phantoms yes you can rename if you use the Presets menu at the top (option 'manage/apply presets' or 'CTRL+M'). The button was not added at the buttom to save a bit of space (but i can certainly add it if needed and if it's something you use frequently) but yeah smart @ark is right too 😁 , the 'rename' option just renames the preset in the folder, so what he said will work too 👍 .. if you want to rename 20 presets maybe it's even faster to do it that way. If you rename like that, just make sure you do it while the tool is closed. Have a nice Xmas everytone, take care ! ❤️ Edited December 25, 20205 yr by Bad_T

December 29, 20205 yr First of all, thank yoou so much for this great little tool. This has been on of the best addons for MSFS so far! I have a question, don't know if that has been asked before. Has anybody tried to add the "Official" folder as well to MSFS Addons Linker and manage also the packages within this one? Will it screw with the sim in any way? I would like to include/exclude addons that I purchased through marketplace or that are directly installed in there as well.
December 29, 20205 yr One more thank you! I also use your application in a daily basis. I am much thankful for you sharing this (fantastic) work! Have a wonderful and healthy 2021. Edited December 29, 20205 yr by ega Edmundo Azevedo

If you move Official Folders to MSaddon linker folder and then create shortcuts when your start MSFS it says your addons are Out of Date and will make you go off line if you continue I tried that with Some of my Marketplace purchased Scenery. December 29, 20205 yr Author thanks for your nice words @Semmel and @ega as @Denwaggsaid, it was not really meant to touch the official folder, it was really done with the only purpose of managing the 'community' folder. i think i've read that some users have have used the tool to manage payware bought stuff and maybe even some stuff that was in the official folder, but i think's it's reserved to people who are very knowledgable with computers and not afraid of experimenting. It's not something i would recommend for normal users. if i add an option that would allow you to move the folder outside of the official folder and create a link in the official folder it would probably work (the current version always create links in the community folder so the sim won't find the official ones anymore if they are linked with the tool). If you then let those official addons always enabled the sim would see them as normal folder and everything should be fine (that would maybe allow people to save space if their official folder is stuck on a full c:\ drive). Same for the 'ms-store' bought addons (i think they end up in a specific folder ?), i will probably buy an addon from the maketplace before the 'sale' is over to check how those work ... i'm also a bit afraid of possible official files being encrypted and not working if you move them outside of their original folder, i'm really not sure if this could be an issue or not. if you have ideas for improvements they are obviously very welcome. Thank you Edited December 29, 20205 yr by Bad_T
December 29, 20205 yr Just to experiment I moved Imaginesim KATL that I purchased on Marketplace from my official folder into my MS Addon Folder and created a shortcut of it there. I them moved the shortcut back into the Official folder. When I started up MSFS and went to KATL as my departing airport MSFS DID NOT SEE the KATL scenery. How that is happening I have not idea but it did not understand the shortcut. Regards Denwagg Steam MSFS 2020. Process Lasso, Acronis True Image Backup. December 29, 20205 yr Author @Denwagg i dont think you can copy the 'shortcut', maybe it's already clear for you but, just for info, what the tool creates are not are not standard 'shortcuts' like windows shortcuts that you would be able to move around but 'dynamic links', the dynamic link has to be created directly in the official folder for it to work. I did not know the difference between shortcuts and dynamic links. But I did move marketplace scenery into my FS Addon folder let Addon linker make links into the community folder. I then moved those links to the official folder. When I started MSFS and went to content manage it sees the links as installed official addons That means we can take addons purchased in marketplace, move them to the FS Addon LInker folder and manage them just like any other addon. Assuming that is something that you would like to do. Regards Edited December 29, 20205 yr by Denwagg Denwagg Steam MSFS 2020. Process Lasso, Acronis True Image Backup. December 29, 20205 yr Author i think if you copy the 'dynamic link' it will just copy all the files (so you will have your files 'doubled') .. the link in itself can not be copied. so check maybe, but i think when you copied the link from your community folder to your official folder, it just copied the real files back in the official folder. Check with Windows explorer, you will probably notice that your copy does not have that little arrow on the folder icon. Dynamic links are really special little things, you just can not copy them 'as link'. so yeah the addon will work and the addon manager will see them because the real files are there (twice on your pc, once there and once in your 'addon folder' where they are not used at all anymore) let me know of course if you think my info is not accurate, i can't exactly see what's happening on your PC 🙃 so maybe my understanding of what you did/saw is not correct.
