October 14, 20205 yr I'm going to get some flak now. While I applaud, admire (and use) the work of 'clever ol' boys' the one thing that concerned me with the advent of a new simulator is that it didn't become the 'Wild West' that was FSX/P3D (Idon't know about sims before then) where every man and his dog were making add-ons seemingly without regard to one another. Consequently giving rise to conflicts. I really hoped that whoever was in charge, Asoso/Microsoft would have a final say on the suitability of 'apps' ensuring compatibility. I understand that my fears could well be unfounded, I hope so. /dons tin hat and ducks behind the sofa The World is divided into two groups. October 14, 20205 yr Great Mod! I flew into KINL this morning in heavy rain/fog. Noticed the GS stayed well below center on most of the approach as the AP would not keep it centered. This was with about 80 knots IAS. Also, I thought ASOBO had fixed the autopilot problem with altitude. I had forgot to set the pressure setting to the local value before takeoff and during cruise, I reset the pressure to the local setting. Of course this changed the altitude on the altimeter, but the autopilot decided to keep it at the previous altitude as indicated when I took off. As I approached KINL, the AP suddenly decided to reset to the correct altitude per the pressure setting. Just FYI from my flight this morning. Other than these minor annoyances, it was a great flight. Thanks for the mod.
October 14, 20205 yr One dumb question, maybe it was answered above but I couldn’t find the answer: So are the two mods compatible in that I can have both in the Community folder (without the G1000 mod)? Or for the time being would I have to choose which to fly before starting the sim and swap the one I intend to fly?

The only way for that to be the case would be to have a totally locked down system like the Apple Store/iPhone. This would prevent us from ever having any freeware mods. If you prefer this type of "walled garden" approach - just disregard all these threads about freeware and only use the default sim + the paid add-ons available in the in-game Marketplace (3 aircraft + airports + a couple of scenery packs). There's nothing forcing you to put anything in the Community folder. It's currently taking the payware developers 3 weeks plus to get MS to approve updates for things that are already released. The SDK is incomplete, which means that some major aircraft developers are holding off until late next year to even try to make aircraft. If it weren't for these "wild west" mods, I think a lot of us would have hit pause on MSFS entirely for the time being. Robert's flight model is the first example of an aircraft that "feels right" because it has had all of the "extra motions" that Asobo has baked into all the aircraft taken out. If by "the two mods" you mean the G36 Improved mod and this Bonanza Turbo mod, no you cannot have them both in the Community folder at the same time. There was a work-around posted earlier in this thread that copies the stock aircraft files to make the Bonanza Turbo a completely separate aircraft to de-conflict between the two, but you'd have to do that legwork yourself, as provided they are not compatible since they both touch files in the same stock aircraft. October 14, 20205 yr Thanks marsman2020 yes I was meaning the naturally aspirated G36 and the turbo normalized. So for now I’ll be swapping them out! 😃

I quit MFS, rebooted system and in once more, and as soon as I started the Bonanza Turbo it went into incredible pogo sticking gyrations all around the airport. Quit, rebooted system, back into sim, same result. Removed turbo mod. Totally out, reboot, back in, default Bonanza just fine, still with the WT G1000 mod. Quit. Repositioned the Turbo folder set. Back in, everything is fine again. But twice in three days with the same issue I guess bears looking at. Have to say my Turbo flight yesterday around So Calif. was quite enjoyable. Still not acquiring the GS during approach however. Oh well. It was a VFR day anyway. It was mentioned further up the thread, maybe not so explicitly stated, but starting the engine with the mixture very lean seems to cause some kind of bug right now. Robert said he's looking at it. I've noticed this at <20%, not sure exactly where it starts to happen. If you start with the mixture full rich it doesn't seem to happen. October 15, 20205 yr Lovely mod! Thanks so much! Any chance of getting reversionary mode working so we can view engine data on the PFD?

The Working Title G1000 is compatible and that shows quite detailed engine data. I use it all the time now and it significantly enhances not just my mod by the default Bonanza too. October 15, 20205 yr Are the temperatures of then g1000 mod right? 560 C on the egt dont seems to low? In the ovation the gas exhausted reaches 1400 C and the cylinder 420. Are the readings correct with the g1000 mod? I’m not an expert, but 540 on the egt and 140 on the cylinders seems too low. In the bonanza No turbo mod it’s the same. sorry for the off topic, I guess is a g1000 topic related. thanks and can’t wait to grab the V2
