Did you mean magnetos or fuel handle? Magnetos have nothing to do with fuel tank selection.  The tank selector is on the floor by the pilots left foot.

Many thanks. I didn't see this before. Now it works as it should. Again, many thanks for your assistance.

You are welcome. We all had to learn sometime!  🙂

Forgive an old git but I've rather lost track of the version needed what with all the 'kefuffle' between modders. At present I have 'Bonanza-Turbo-V2 dd. October 15th 2020. Am I behind the movement? I don't care to mix 'n' match, I want to stay with the Rob Young version

That’s the right one Ron. Also make sure you have the Working Title G1000 v 0.3.2 for the Garmin.

Prop aircraft have two separate ignition systems, each with a shorting system to disable them when the aircraft is parked. If one of the magnetos is still live when "off" someone turning the prop can actually cause the engine to start with unpleasant results for the person moving the prop,

This is the reason you ALWAYS turn the magnetos off after killing the engine with mixture cut-off. leaving magnetos on with a parked plane is very dangerous.

The PRIMARY reason for using the magneto R/L/BOTH switch in prefight is testing the shorting circuits by killing each magneto in turn, for the safety of anyone moving the prop if the engine is stopped.

Many people, including many pilots and a lot of online literature, assume the main purpose is to test the ignition system for fouled plugs, faulty magneto etc, but this in fact the SECONDARY reason for the test.

V3 is still in the pipeline Ron. The last MSFS update goes deeper than I thought. A lot of variables have changed, apart from the file structure changes that is the cause of missing liveries for some. There is no point in releasing anything that isn't an improvement. There are many in V3 but one improvement cancels out another quality in V2. I'm getting there slowly. Hopefully before the end of next week.

Thanks for coming in Robert. As a matter of interest, is icing part of the mod? The reason I as is I was at Bryce Canyon (7500 odd feet) yeah, I know it's cold up there, in fact I spent quite a long time cursing because she wouldn't start. Doh! Mixture full rich!

Anyway I couldn't see a bloody thing within minutes of taking off due to very pretty ice on the windshield. Yes, I had pitot, prop and every other heating on. (the second flight anyway 😏)

If it's not in your bag of tricks, ignore this.

There are icing params to tweak but they are quite complicated and I'm unsure that they will stop it anyway. You can turn off icing effects in the menus so they appear visually but do not stop anything from working. The main problem is seeing where you are going as you discovered! It makes it fun weaving around the clouds, even the ones present at low level after a 95 degree fahrenheit take off. Perhaps the devs think we all live in the Arctic circle.

I don't want to bog you down with this but I did the flight again in the C172...No ice at all. It seems like an Asobo thing not yours. So, in the words of M Patey..Back to work. 🙂

I did a flight out of Nanwalek and got really bad Iceing, windows were 80% covered. 3 nights ago.

I could probably disable icing, but then others might complain it is not available. I'll see whether it is tweakable, but I suspect you can't alter the way it works.

Thanks for the update Robert, looking forward to V3.  I also enjoy your honest feedback about what is going on 'behind the scenes' with the SDK/aircraft.  I feel that some of the commercial developers are choosing their words carefully so as not to impact potential future support from MS/Asobo, so your perspective as an 'independent' subject matter expert is useful.
