Carenado Mooney performance?

Featured Replies

Has anyone more than me noted a performance loss with Mooney? I got 10 fps less after the patch, standard GA aircraft's seems to give me the same performance as before, but the Mooney seems to suffer in performance after the update for me.

I haven't noticed any loss with the Mooney.  And I fly it alot 😎

Use dev mode and observe the Mooney. It’s cpu limited. It doesn’t use coherentGPdraw like the default aircraft. It’s one of the reasons I don’t use it.

I thought it was equivalent to the default GA aircraft in performance , but that explains the difference then.

Hmm, is this a good metric to judge add-on aircraft to see if they are developed from "scratch" for MSFS or just ports?

What about the Iris Jabiru?

Do you guys have no issues with the buttons after the update?

Mine won't let me hide the yokes, and many of the buttons don't work.

Carenado is working on an update for the C182 and the M20.

I knew it was using more resources, so, I went hunting and found that out. The sim uses enough of my CPU without an add-on aircraft taxing it even more. I wish they would offload it to the GPU.

It's certainly interesting.... and worthwhile checking. Only takes a few seconds to check.

I also couldn’t hide the yokes,  it sure about the buttons, I didn’t notice any issues on my short trial though.

So funny enough, the m20r in my test of this was maybe around 59fps.  Took the default 172 up (6-pack) and it pulled mid 70’s FPS.  One stretch was 79, and I was cheering it on to break 80, but no joy.

And other developers are hard at work to support this latest MFS release as well.  It is not just Carenado.  I flew today and my REX Weather Force was not injecting weather.  A quick look at their site confirms they are in "pre-deployment" of a release to support 1.10.7.0.  We have seen this happen with P3D version updates and xPlane updates, so it is not at all unusual.  I have already updated (6) different mods from avionics to aircraft performance, to liveries.  All emerged very quickly.
