I'm one who really has had no 'significant' problems with the initial premium install nor any of the 5 patches so far.  I'm sorry for those who have been plagued by this but quite frankly it's very hard to tell how prevalent this is.  PLEASE keep this restricted to what it is, INSTALLATION WOES--not post-patch issues which break or adversely affect prior functionality that is for another poll.  It's hard to write good polls but hopefully this will shine a light on this particular issue.  

This poll is not going to get at potential causes beyond it is restricted to installs done thru the MS Store, not Steam, and does not consider add-ons, community folder additons/hacks, etc.

I always get an error message at the first attempt to download updates in MS store (hate the word not allowed thing).  

Fortunately download always started after mashing the button multiple times.

Personally I have not had one problem with the MS Store.  Had the game off PC Game Pass and bought the premium version and never ran into the issues others had.  I've only purchased one payware item, and that was just the other day, so I haven't used it nearly as much.

I bought a couple of add-on airports and the WDC landmarks early on and all those were flawless too

Very biased survey options, leaves out a heap of scenarios including a whole batch of different "failed patch quickly sorted by myself with no need to use support" .

You are basically limiting the responses to people that either had no issues at all, or issues bad enough to need MS Support to help.

For example my ONLY glitch so far was a login issue that prevented me accessing streaming scenery etc that was easily resolved after a few seconds on google by logging out of game and all my other MS accounts including the MS Store and Xbox assistant/game bar for Win10 and logging back in.  I would call the issue "significant" but also very easily rectified.

Yes of course Glenn this was never intended to be a full depth inquiry.  I posted the poll only to get at some sense of how many had *essentially* flawless installations--in contrast to the tales of woe from those who have posted threads to the contrary.   One could get the sense the installation routine was highly plagued and this poll clearly suggests otherwise.

but that is very logical, the peeps having issues are the first to cry out, you hear them, where the vast  majority had

no issues, and so you dont hear them.

and as such, that means forums are always biased toward the failures.

I had a download issue, not an installation issue.  The download was very slow and would get to certain files and go into a loop and would never finish.  I reached out to Microsoft and they offered some suggestions, but didn't resolve the issue.  Then someone mentioned to try a VPN client, so that's what I did and all patches since have downloaded perfectly at a consistent speed.  No installation issues that I know of.  I only mention this because my specific issue isn't listed as a choice above, but thought it was worth a mention.  I do not know how widespread this issue is, but I do know I'm not the only one affected by it.  My assumption has been the default download server I am pointed to due to my geo location has issues, but I cannot prove it unfortunately.  Thanks for listening.

One thing I have learned in my last encounter is that there are two MS Stores, one as an App on your PC, and one on the Internet, accessed via your browser.

Most of the time, they look the same, but this time, the MS Store App no longer listed MSFS in My Library, even after a store reset.

BUT... the online store still knew that I owned MSFS and allowed me to reinstall which saved the day.  🙂

The really annoying thing is that I contacted an "MS Ambassador" via support chat who had no useful information whatsoever as I was fighting with the MS Store App... ☹️
