If it`s a pre-built PC from Scan i would phone them for support.

I have tried but the phone line is permanently engaged. I have found Scan terrible at customer support.

@Paul-g,

Whilst you can get advice here I really think you need to talk to Scan as all this should have been done by them as part of the Quality Control.

To answer your question about posting images here you need to use something like Dropbox as a host and link them using the option in a reply.

What you have posted tells me your system is only using the onboard graphics, not the 3080. It's also using the default monitor driver, not the one specifically for your monitor. Visit Samsung, search for drivers for your model.

These are simple fixes but it's disappointing Scan hasn't correctly configured your PC. Good luck.

What wattage power supply do you have installed? You can have things plugged in correctly and still have issues if there is not enough power. I had that happen to me years ago. Just something to rule out. Hope you get it squared away.

I know its easier said than done but for your next one, consider building it yourself. There a millions of tutorials online, its not that hard at all, and you'll make yourself proud as well 🙂

What you have pasted there is simply details of the internal Intel 630 built in graphics.

It seems like the Graphics card is either:

1. not seated properly possibly due to vibration in freight OR

2. not getting power properly properly possibly due to vibration in freight OR

3. just plain outright faulty

Thanks everyone for your helpful comments. The MSFS community is excellent at supporting each other.
I managed to used the support chat line for my system and Josh H talked me through re-seating the graphics card. That didn’t work so he asked me to move it down to another slot and presto it worked!
MSFS is now running well at around 45 FPS in undemanding scenery areas so need to explore.
Scan computers say that I will need to return the machine to them for repair of the top slot. I don’t want to be without my new PC at the moment so will get it returned to Scan early in the New Year.
Once again, thanks everyone!

Thanks Ray. As I have posted below I am up and running with the graphics card in a lower slot on the main board. I suspect the top slot was damaged in transit. I don’t want to be without my new toy at the moment so will return to Scan in the New Year.  I have been very disappointed with Scan during the order and build process with their very poor comms. Probably a result of their success. Once I had a person to deal with at Scan things were a little better.
Having given up flying for real last summer I am looking forward to a winter of PC flying!

@Paul-g, glad to hear it’s a simple fix. Disappointing that courier firms don’t take more care.

I bought my latest PC from Chillblast and would recommend them when you next need a machine.

Lots of good advice on here, but from someone who worked in IT for 25years do yourself a favour and contact the boys at Scan. They provide really good support, you will be in good hands with them ok.

It’s because of the 3 series nvidia cards, they are getting hammered. Their live chat is good, that I see you used. It’s a good company though, probably one of the best.

Bummer about that failed pci-e card slot!  If that system was shipped to you, that big heavy rtx 3080 may have damaged the slot during transit.  It's worth discussing this with the vendor, such that when they return your computer they ship it without the gcard installed.  Glad that you got the problem resolved, enjoy that new rig of yours!

Those big  triple slot 3090's are not really suited to being moved around once mounted, a very slight jar from a short distance drop is likely to cause issues, especially if the carton is positioned in a way that the motherboard is vertical.

Freighting without some sort of support, either temporary packing inside the case while being freighted or a more permanent support bracket is guaranteed to lead to occasional issues.

I think there is an excellent chance that all of your slots work. You just can't put the big card in one of them. Certainly it was working when they built it and packed it up, so there is a chance that slot is broke now but I have a hunch it isn't.

Paul, I have always found Scan extremely helpful, the reason there phone lines were engaged was because of the amount of people trying to buy the new AMD cpu's, I myself was trying to contact them to buy a new overclocked motherboard bundle, I got through yesterday and was well looked after by them.

Asus Maximus Hero X11, Intel i9 10850k, 32gb Corsair Dominator ram, 2tb Corsair mp510 ssd  m2, Gigybyte turbo RTX 3090

Glad to hear you found the solution to the problem, but the problem with having the card sitting further down in the chassis is that the air flow and cooling to the card gets worse, so you should definitely get the motherboard replaced, if I was in your situation I would ask them to send me a new motherboard so I could replace it myself.
