OK what changed last night (08/11/2020) server side? GPU?

I switched the server from Europe to US and back, now data and performance as before. Can be coincidence of course.

That's interesting. Maybe one of the servers were restarted or updated, and the user got switched automagically to another one.. and thats why people see a difference suddenly, for better or for worse.

AMD Ryzen R9 9950X3D | Asus Astral RTX 5080 OC | 32 GB DDR5 6000 CL30 | 3440x1440 G-Sync | Logitech Pro Throttles Rudder Yoke Panels | Thrustmaster T.16000M FCS | TrackIR 5 | Oculus Rift S

I would imagine there is a something coincidental in the case of the op.  If Asobo is addressing engine performance changes to impact main thread issues, as they stated in their development q/a last week, it would come through code level changes, and not the server side.  We will see what they have in store for us tomorrow.   For the record, I see no changes on my end today.

Dell 43” 4K

Maybe the only factor is live weather and live traffic, either a glitch was causing the GPU over-processing these 2, or a bug was sending more data than usual?

I forgot to mention that on the same flight I had the issues I also temporarily lost my connection with their servers...first time that’s ever happened to me.

Current System (Running at 4k): ASUS ROG STRIX X670E-F, Ryzen 7800X3D, RTX 5090, 55" Samsung Q80T, 64GB DDR5 6000 RAM, EVGA CLC 280mm AIO Cooler, Brunner CLS-E NG Yoke, Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS & Stick, Thrustmaster TCA Quadrant & Add-on, VirtualFly Ruddo+, TQ6+ and Yoko+, GoFlight MCP-PRO and EFIS, Skalarki FCU and MCDU

All this looks strange to me, no changes noticed since yesterday whatsoever. The sim is as it's used to be.

This Sim is strange sometimes. Somedays I start it at the same location and it’s horrible Performance. Other days in the exact same location it’s perfect. is it their servers doing this? I didn’t think that Would affect FPS. Is this a problem running an online world?

It's not unusual in an online world...   I have noticed similar in other online game worlds from time to time.

Anyway, I must be going mental because I just had the same thing at 7:30pm uk time..  server dropped and came back  and now it is as it was last night.  30% CPU  80% GPU.

I give up and will just crawl away into a little hole and cry quietly 🙂

System specs...   CPU AMD5950,  GPU AMD6900XT,  ROG crosshair VIII Hero motherboard, Corsair 64 gig LPX 3600 mem, Air cooling on GPU,   Kraken x pump cooling on CPU.  Samsung G7 curved 27" monitor at 2k resolution ULTRA default settings.

Yep understand all that and have run a couple of long flights today monitoring temps and everything and no issues in that regards which I am pleased about.. I was as much interested in the change that actually took place  changing from 40%CPU and 70% GPU  to 30% CPU and a solid 100% GPU with no changes on my end of any sort. 🙂

Graham

A lot of good advice regarding GPU temps, so thought I'd also add that each manufacturer / GPU has it's own published temperature specs, so to have peace of mind, look yours up. 🙂

Dont give up bro😊 You said it yourself "its not unusual in an online world" and the post before raised the question.

I dont know that much about computing but my instinct when i saw about the new release was 1) Wow 2) oh no its streaming online.

Maybe offline/cache is a temporary workaround. This is an "ecosystem" game/simulator which makes it so good and potentially better

but maybe the downside is that troubleshooting is more complcated. We see here just on this thread how systems are

behaving differently. Just my thinking. And yes as said above check specifications regarding the GPU mainly.
