November 12, 20205 yr I mapped "parking brake toggle" to my Joystick fire button, but I'll have to re-think it when I get my Me(sserschmitt) 109
November 12, 20205 yr hmm remember something like this happening when the sim was first installed. It did turn out to be a duplicate trim axis assignment that the sim had defaulted in in my case.

Every controller and assignment has been looked at for compromises. Martin Does the brake release when you do it manually by mouse in the cockpit? If so it has to be a problem with key binding.. CNTL-NUM DECIMAL/DELETE is the release. Have you tried with NUM Lock both on and off, and also tried with both Left CNTL and Right CNTL? Depending on the keyboard, all those can be issues. November 12, 20205 yr Author @Moria15 The cockpit releases normally. On keyboard I have deleted the Parking Brake as I use my Warthog Hotas for the parking brake and nothing else is assigned to that button. Maybe a breakthrough, with a downside! I am using the TBM as the testing plane. Something has happened where the panel is not lit up. Avionics are on as with lights, but the screens are black! I think the parking brake/throttle system is now working as I can apply a little throttle and be able to move - not tried other planes for now. The question now is how can I get the panels to function, to be sure it is not coincidence? Martin Edit: The King Air 350i doesn't move, stuck solid with full throttle!:( Edited November 12, 20205 yr by sauviat Information update Martin Parr Retired professional yacht skipper for vessels up to 46m System: Omen 40L GT13-0054na Gaming PC; Windows 11 Home 64-bit OS; Intel Core i9-10900K CPU @ 3.7GHz; RAM 32GB; Samsung S34J55x Monitor 3440x1440 @75 Hz Resolution; NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 Ti. It's still not clear what exactly the problem is the OP is encountering. Yes, ground friction is a problem. That is a known fact. I've never encountered a "parking brake not releasing" issue. My parking brake is mapped to a keyboard button, and it works every single time. Without seeing some evidence, for example, a video, I'm reluctant to call this a "bug" and suspect it's something related to the OP's setup. Edited November 13, 20205 yr by Ricardo41

November 13, 20205 yr I reinstalled the game yesterday (had no problems, just wanted a fresh install as I bought a new larger NVME drive), and now have hit this issue a few times, like several times out of only 5 flights. Very odd. It doesn't seem to be a parking brake issue necessarily but possibly an initially "locked controller" issue just not acknowledging certain commands. Never had the issue before I reinstalled, so no idea the cause yet. I'll keep messing with it. Edited November 13, 20205 yr by SceneryFX AMD 5800x | Nvidia 3080 (12gb) | 64gb ram
November 13, 20205 yr Author Just an update overnight from MS to me - It' Friday the 13th! I've been instructed to completely uninstall MSFS and follow instructions they've sent me. He also mentioned that MS will provide information through the Forums for others to see. It has nothing to do with my system or setup. I will be following the information provided - not read it yet - and will report back at some stage when MSFS has been reinstalled. Thanks for participating at this time. Martin really glad you are getting help.. but I think one of the excellent things about this thread is that MS/Asobo.. when told about problems via Zendesk, WILL investigate and WILL follow up on those problems until it is sorted. Like Sauviat said.. I too have had follow up emails from Asobo re Zendesk items which have fixed those issues in new releases.. Nice to be able to interact directly with the devs over issues 🙂 Graham System specs... Search for pause and make sure you select all when you do No I have also experienced that the parking brake is on even after pressing the keys supposed to release it.

Are you seeing the brake lever change positions in the cockpit? I have a control switch mapped, but I find myself using my mouse in the cockpit because I was always panning to look anyway when I used my control's switch. In this new sim I am finding myself using my mouse for almost all cockpit switches, except light switches when starting cold and dark - after dark. November 14, 20205 yr Author An interim update! After the initial launch of FSFS back on Aug 18, with the subsequent various updates and patches along the way, a complete reinstall is a mammoth task. I have the Premium Deluxe Box set, so installation is somewhat different to those that go direct to the MS store, XBox or Steam. The box set is then connected to MS store so you have an initial download there. The download/installation that takes place within MSFS has taken 23 hours, but it is good that it is now possible to monitor it all with download speeds and progress and watch it on another PC in the Windows tree structure. Once installed, you have the content manager items to install. I've just rebooted the PC and going to take breakfast before I test to see if this has worked and resolved the parking brake/throttle issue! Then I have the process of setting up MSAddon Linker to reinstate the 120+GB of mods, thanks to the author giving me the heads up so that it will be easy. Catch up later Martin Martin Parr Retired professional yacht skipper for vessels up to 46m System: Omen 40L GT13-0054na Gaming PC; Windows 11 Home 64-bit OS; Intel Core i9-10900K CPU @ 3.7GHz; RAM 32GB; Samsung S34J55x Monitor 3440x1440 @75 Hz Resolution; NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 Ti. November 14, 20205 yr Author Almost definitive... Well, I don't really want to do this too often as I am there and not there! On the plus side the new reinstall and looking at the "vanilla" state the overall performance of the sim is A1 in the most part, for my system. However the settings for the planes are as per the controllers from before - the settings are kept by MS in the ether, as nothing changes even with a vanilla install - I suppose it is what is kept as per your Gametag. As for the parking brake/throttle issue. I have pulled the single, twin and 4 engine sensitivities to pieces and now I am convinced the issue lies here! I have profiles for each engine type and a default setting. I am not that knowledgeable about dead zones, sensitivity +/- or neutral and what they mean or do. When you look at them you have you have four columns, but only the two on the right curves can be adjusted - when you move your throttles. So I would ask if you can let me have what you settings are, so that I can work out if they would be right for me? That would be for single, twin and four engine types. For now I have 0% for neutral, 6% Dead Zone, and +/- 1% for sensitivity on the four engine: this does enable taxiing at very slow speeds, and with lots of power can move from a standstill. For two engine I get the same as above but the +/- for sensitivity is 9%. Performance is much better than before. The TBM is the same as the two engine jet, but does require tuning! The C208B needs some tuning for initial movement, but once moving is easy to taxi slowly. The King Air 350i has a mind of its own and I would like help with this one. These were all default. From what I remember when pressing the keys and that does not help I click in the cockpit to release the brake (C152) which then moves thus it does not change position by pressing keys
November 19, 20205 yr Martin, Anything new on the "airplane doesn't budge on the runway when throttle is applied" front? My problems continue. I can visually confirm that the parking brake is off and yet the plane will not roll down the runway even at full throttle. I have noticed if I move the rudder pedals (Redbird Alloy RD1) back and forth the plane will "unstick" and commence its takeoff roll. But the problem is intermittent and restarting doesn't often help. I'll scour Zendesk for items related to this to get some help.
