Log book not working after new patch

Featured Replies

The ms2020 sim has been working great until today when I updated it with the new patch. Everything was working fine until I installed the patch. After installing the new patch the sim still works great with the exception that after IFR flights it does no give me credit for the flight in my log book. It lists the flight but no time of flight and takeoffs and landings is given for them. After I land at a airport and taxi to the designated parking area and the blue arrows turn green I turn off the engine and the box pops up saying that the flight was successful and lists the flight time and number of takeoffs and landings. I then hit continue to finish the close out state. But When I go back to the main program and go under profiles to my log book the flight is showing up but without the flight time or takeoff and landing numbers. This has always worked in the past and has kept perfect track of my hours and takeoff and landings for each flight. Is anyone else have this problem? Does anyone now how to fix it or something that I have to change to make it work as before? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks  Al

I am glad it is not just me. Yes, I have the same problem with a variation. Yesterday I landed after an IFR flight. Actually I cancelled IFR because of the crazy altitude requests from ATC. After landing and taxiing in I shut down the engine (C172 G1000) using the mixture control. The logbook entry popped up (ugh!) with a reasonable time for the flight with the correct departure and arrival airfields. I resumed to complete the shut down before checking the logbook from the main screen and the recorded flight was 2 minutes, no take off and no landing.

Yesterday I flew a short VFR hop. After landing, taxied to parking, shut down the engine using mixture (C172) turned the ignition off and the record of the flight popped up. I then exited to the main menu without completing the check list. Flight properly recorded on the logbook.

I flew Rome to Corfu in CJ4. Used ATC until I could tolerate that nonsense no more (insisted I descend first to expect a higher flight level). Landed at Corfu. Shut down and was sent unceremoniously to the loading screen. Chose to go back to the flight as I wanted to do the full shut down properly. Guess what.... the log book recorded only the part after returning to the cockpit after shutdown. A full hour lost. Logbook is utter garbage in this sim right now. 3 months in and it is as broken as ever.

Message to Asobo: Either do it right or don't do it.

You can recommend a good guide for installing the program

My logbook is only showing 36 hours in total and I know for sure that I've flown a lot more than that.

I've easily logged 300 hrs in the TBM since I bought it on release but yet its only showing 172 hrs and has stopped logging my flights since the last update 2 or 3 weeks ago..... very frustrating for sure.

Yes it’s hit or miss.

Logs some fine...

Others only destination airport to destination airport with 0 hours logged (this is the weirdest).

Then others don’t get logged at all!

Maybe obvious, but make sure you don't enable Developer Mode during the flight because that will prevent logging hours (on purpose).

Emile van Gerwen.

The logbook is pretty much worthless. I fly from A-B and after parking and shutting down AC the logbook pops up with all the correct info.

Back in the main logbook it shows that I flew from B-B with flight time of 0, 0-takeoffs, 0-landings.

And somehow my total flight time is less now than it was a week ago, and I have less takeoffs and landings.

That happens if you've had a bumpy landing, i.e the wheels have left the runway and come back down - even if just for a split second - or (as seems to have just happened to me) if the taxiway is one of those with humps which make your aircraft bump up off the ground. It's logged the 'micro-flight' instead of the real one.

That is total BS.  I have flown simulators extensively since the start of all of this.  The logbook is 100% broken.  End of story!

I assume you mean the fact that happens is BS rather than my explanation?😉

My landings are far from smooth but the logbook shows the correct information. Recently I have either abandoned a long taxi to parking or I have arrived at the designated parking spot but there was no marshal there. In these cases the pop-up of the flight details does not appear (great) when I shut down and the logbook is fine.

Doing shortish hops, I find the day/night record of landings pretty useless. I did a night flight but only got credit for a day take off.

I think a flight recently failed to log. I just shrugged my shoulders...
