January 27, 20215 yr Well, I downloaded and installed the update but the aircraft still lurches hard left as soon as the tailwheel lifts off the runway. I guess we'll still need the extra weight and full nose-up trim for a while. Bummer!

But I got the HSI in the Seminole working again by deleting the file as suggested in the Seminole thread. Didn't try the Waco again yet. The Waco won't accellerate above 40 knots for me, regardless if the tail wheel is planted on the ground or not. If I lift the tail, it wants to go sideways so bad no amount of rudder control will save you. And the CoG issue is still there. Definitely far better. With neutral stick and TO trim, the tail comes up pretty early and it pretty much rotates by itself, a little twitchy but not unusually so for MSFS. A slight kick at 40 MPH but nothing like before. With stick firmly forward I can hit 90 MPH with tail up and main wheels firmly planted on runway. Am I the only one finding it better ?

Just 'normal' MSFS skittishness, not the suicidal ground loop to the left unless yu kept the tailwheel planted of the original release. I have not checked any of the other bugs.

I only had time for a quick take-off or two before work and to be honest I almost never look at the instruments in that thing, usually have my head out one side or the other looking along the cowl and I often even fly from the front cockpit (which also has a HSI but if the main one is broken the co-pilot one will be as well). Now I am aware of the potential issue I will log in after work and try it again. What I did have time to confirm is relatively normal trim and tailwheel stick technique take-offs and landings are, for my install at least, now just "tricky" rather than insanely suicidal. I can confirm it's better but you have to be on your toes with the toe breaks to assist once the 'locked' tail wheel is off the ground to keep it straight until you reach lift off speed. I tap the toe brakes with the use of rudder and that does the trick. With practice it becomes a none issue even with a crosswind to take off and land. That aside it doesn't do well in cross winds and will run off the runway if not careful. If you have a wind sock to go by or ground telling you which runway to depart from you should be fine. Engine performance in flight has improved. HSI is not broken... January 28, 20215 yr I find it very much improved too, but my HSI IS NOT broken after the update. The Seminole IS broken though. Which is a shame really. I now find this plane very easy to control on the ground, and is a joy to fly. Currently my favourite plane for GA. January 28, 20215 yr That's it then - time to buy! With this news and the amount of stunning repaints by Jan and few others, I can't hold off any longer! 😀 It could be an expensive month. I am looking at getting the Fiat G-91, the TB-21, the Jabiru, and one of the camera replay systems. All we need now is for MS / Asobo to deliver with fixes / extra features over the next few months, and we will be absolutely flying! (excuse the pun). PS. A DC-3 in the works as well now. Exciting times! Edited January 28, 20215 yr by bobcat999 Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind). January 28, 20215 yr A quick question. Where did you guys with the update buy it from? Was it direct from Carenado direct, or the marketplace? I want the updated one you see, and I know the marketplace can run a few weeks behind. Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind). Note the updated one is much better but is still a handful and can get away from you easily if your not on top of it. Lock the tailwheel, some back stick remains necessary just not near as much, control with jabs of rudder. Tailwheel control is near the trim wheel. If you want to fly from front click on stick to get tablet and remove cover then assign a key to co-pilot. There is a bug that sometimes spawns you with fuel off, the fuel taps are left and right sides with red knobs. Edited January 28, 20215 yr by Glenn Fitzpatrick

Note it also floats a lot more post patch, come in at or under 80 and no short finals 😄 Slipping on landing can be a useful thing. If you have issues try the front seat, it seems easier to control from up the front. Edited January 28, 20215 yr by Glenn Fitzpatrick
