December 29, 20205 yr Just as a reminder: There's this thread over at their forums with currently nearly 600 votes dealing with the shortcomings of the turboprop model and thus affecting the TBM, King Air and Caravan. Although MS/ASOBO have scheduled fixing it for Sim update 4 it might be beneficial to vote and/or contribute there, especially when it comes to the expectations for said fix. Actually, if you look into the history of the plane, it was pretty much commissioned by FedEx just as they’re doing now with the new Courier aircraft. It was meant as a parcel carrier only later exploited for passengers. Edited December 29, 20205 yr by Cmcollazo71

Thing is unless you are doing some sort of simulated economy stuff flying freight into remote bush strips they are not the sort of thing that will attract simmers. Sort of like Ford Transits are never really going to be a thing in car sims.

Yes and no, because they’re the perfect excuse to fly say into KLAX from KIPL which several FedEx and essential airline service caravans do in real life... In other words, real world short hop to a major airport excuse. Edited December 29, 20205 yr by Cmcollazo71

Absolutely, we have about 8 FedEx caravans based at ONT in Southern California and they just do short hops from the hub to smaller regional airports. Edited December 29, 20205 yr by Azapata87

The latter being much faster at cruise but still capable on short strips. I do prefer the view out of the high wing caravan and it’s larger cockpit windows. The other day I accidentally chose the Cessna Grand Caravan and I totally freaked out; I couldn't escape out of the flight quickly enough. True story.

Good call...thanks for bringing this here. I will be sure to vote. Just strikes me as strange they would make the TBM/GC prominent planes with a pretty broken turboprop model. I generally like to fly the GC since its a single engine turboprop with G1000.
December 29, 20205 yr Caravan generally speaking in a better shape than say Cessna Longitude. Yet it suffer from improper turbo modeling like all the rest of turboprops in MSFS. 10 degree flap notch is get skipped when flap bind to a key/switch. Deice priority switch windshield /airframe are reversed. Also the way it melt ice is odd. I have never flown Caravan or observed how deicing work on real counterpart, but it seems to me it doesn't shed ice sufficiently. I would welcome any mod FBW or Working Title quality! 208 needs some love! Life time flight sim enthusiast, current airplane owner 172P (past C182F). There's a massive amount of mods for Assetto Corsa, so anyone's particular thing is probably already a mod. I like to do Formula One races agains the AI and put Lance Stroll in a Ford Transit or a Citroen 2CV or on a lawnmover, as a penalty for being Lance Stroll.
December 30, 20205 yr I think the Grand Caravan is grand as a workhorse mission, bush, and sightseeing plane, especially in developing parts of the world... but I fly it everywhere. There’s a great mod here... https://github.com/dgtlanlg/C208B-mod/tree/c208b-dev And the ongoing discussion is here... (a real-world pilot was participating in the discussion/mod testing for awhile) https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/c208b-grand-caravan-ex-mods-general/322172/94

I fly the 208 almost exclusively in MSFS but didn't know that the original "fix" mod had been forked. Going to check it out now. Mark Lam
