Tonight I REALLY wish there was a replay function

Featured Replies

So I'm flying along happily tonight, cruising southeast from Split to Dubrovnik in Croatia, over water, well clear of terrain (though there were cliffs a few miles to my left).  Keeping my hand on the yoke, I turn away from the screen for a minute to pet my cat who is in his usual place in a chair beside me.  I looked back at the screen to see a wall of green in front of me and could barely get oh word not allowed out of my mouth before I impacted the ground a split second later.  There you go, CFIT due to cat distraction, and now I have no way to figure out what I crashed into!  I'm guessing a slow turn left into a cliff but now it will be a mystery forever without a replay function.

Wow ! You have a really small car.

No mystery. It was a Cat 1 approach. 🤣

But in FSX you still wouldn’t know -that replay doesn’t work after a crash... I forget if P3D allow it after a crash...

Possibly your cat was confused and decided to emulate the effects of Clear Air Turbulence ?

If you want replay right now, you could always stream your flights to twitch or YouTube I suppose. probably a bit too much effort just to prepare accident reports on Cat Induced Flight into Terrain  (CIFIT) though.

You can do action replay in MSFS - install FS Playground!  Works well.

Doesn't work that well, it's okay but it glitches a fair bit.

Sounds like a hairy situation.

OK, I'll bite.

You are right...this would have been the puuuuurr-fect opportunity to have replay.

Sorry that you littered your aircraft all over the terrain.

I would put this post in the "ripe for puns" CAT-egory.

Please don't in-fur anything about my personality with these puns.

That's all I got.

This is great, thanks guys.  It makes my virtual death due to pilot incompetence easier to take 😂

You might be able to figure out approx. where you were, by knowing how many minutes out of Banana-Split you were, and your airspeed.

If you have Windows 10 and the Xbox Game Bar you can instantly capture, snap or replay at any time.  It works quite well and with high quality:

Replay (2)

If you have it active for the game you can click the replay button (or use the hotkey: Windows+Alt+G). This replays the last 30 sec.
