Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

Is it me or have rather large taxiway signs (Some as big as billboards) been introduced with the last update?

Yes, at the last update.  They had a good attempt though - they are only about 2.5 times too big by my estimation.
Someone at Asobo must have looked at them after adjustment and thought - yes, that's about right now.
It is things like this that make this already great flight sim comedy gold as well.   There is always something to keep us amused.

It is difficult to please everyone though (as we know), and they have to strike a balance between reality and readability in the sim.
I thought an increase of 50% would have done it, but it looks like an extra zero might have crept in!
I think they will tweak it back a bit based on feedback, maybe at the next sim update in a few weeks (optimistic I know).

The good news...  You can now plan your taxi to parking while you are on your base leg! 😀

Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

Intel 14900K in a Z790 motherboard with water cooling, RTX 4080, 32 GB 6000 CL30 DDR5 RAM, W11 and MSFS on Samsung 980 Pro NVME SSD's.  Core Isolation Off, Game Mode Off.

These signs were spot on originally and I don't know why people were complaing.  The new billboards introduced in the update look absolutely ridiculous.

Ryzen 5800X3D, Nvidia RTX5080 - 32 Gig DDR4 RAM, 1TB & 2 TB NVME drives - Windows 11 64 bit MSFS 2024 Premium Deluxe Edition Resolution 2560 x 1440 (32 inch curved monitor)

There are size settings for taxiway signs (1,  2, 3, 4, 5) and prior tob the update all defaulted to 1 (smallest) no matter what they set to. It was a bug that was fixed in the update. So now they show according to the assigned size value. It's obvious that some have the wrong size values assigned.

How about a search before starting any new threads on taxiway signs. There is already an extensive one..

100% the wrong approach!  🤦‍♂️

Instead, just keep objects the proper real world scale, and if you're having trouble seeing them use the mouse-wheel zoom feature.

^^^ best response to this fiasco yet.  Just like saying 'if your having problems with climb rate, just make the engines twice the size' (also stupid)

They certainly do. Its like huge yellow bricks on every major airfield. I would rather they completely remove them then have then at this size.
