February 19, 20215 yr The developer announced that all subscriptions will stop at the end of this year. Another good add-on is a casualty of MSFS disrupting the flightsim market.
February 19, 20215 yr Also that fact that Aivlasoft officially says that it's not compatible with it didn't help. Don't quote me but I think sors.fr is compatible which is not that expensive. I've come back to v5 because I fear, as I would like to put it that the Golden Age of flight simming is passing us by something that no one wants to admit or say, basically the "dumming" down approach to sim flying. February 19, 20215 yr Maybe LM themselves could fix their database and at least update it every 3mo. Or better, let Navigraph provide db updates for the core sim, just like you can do with Xplane (XP11 itself even lets you update US approaches for free by downloading the ARINC424 db from FAA website, LM take note.) February 19, 20215 yr fsaerodata is stopping its activities because of MSFS? The rationale is that people who used to buy fsaerodata subscription do not anymore because they are switching to MSFS? February 19, 20215 yr Author Because much of the P3d5 navaid database is embedded in the stock airport files, updating them on a ~monthly basis is quite complicated. The author of fsaerodata had automated the update process. I'm sure that someone else could figure out that process but the P3d5 market size is now probably too small to warrant such a subscription service (which also requires a Navigraph subscription too).

Requests had been made years ago for the nav database to be separated out to make it easier to amend. Not doing so now seems a quite shortsighted approach.... February 20, 20215 yr Guys. Forgive me for not understanding since I didn’t use aero data. February 20, 20215 yr My understanding is that Fsaerodata updates the stock P3D navdata (eg. ILS frequency). If one flies to and from only up to date 3rd party airports, then fsaerodata is not needed.
