MSFS Update 3 - 5 Awesome Hand made Airports

Featured Replies

update 3
EGPR - Barra
EGGP - Liverpool (we had a good freeware for this already.) This one looks almost as good/same as the freeware.
EGHC - Lands End
EG78 - Out Skerries. Shetland (N. of. Scotland) - fantastic
EGCB - Manchester Barton. - Very Nice.

I will have to check them all out! I made the trip from YVR to the UK after the update, and "rented" a 172. Now touring around in Scotland, intend to do the whole island. I have been impressed overall at the scenery!

I wasn’t exactly enthusiastic when I first read Out Skerries, but now I love it. Landing there can be quite a challenge. I needed 5 attempts the other day due to heavy winds. That was fun, esp. in VR.

My first flight after the update was from Lands End.  The airport is decent, though I was quite happy with the freeware add-on I was using previously.  Turned left and thought Sennen cove looked good, but was a bit disappointed when I flew over lands end itself.  They do seem to have improved the coastlines and water masking in Cornwall quite a bit though.

In terms of not having to buy addons for these airports, that's a $100 saved right there.

I would love to see a comparison video between the new Asobo Liverpool and Digital Designs one. I guess I can spare the money but you never know

I bought the DD airport in the Orbx sale for under £10, the airport is better than the new updated one from Asobo plus you get the bridges over the Mersey and powerstation, it makes all the difference for immersion, well worth it.

Thats terrible. I wish the airport addons would stop adding landmarks or buildings in the surrounding areas. Thats a no go for me.

Why on earth not if it improves things??

I also flew out of the "Bespoke" Liverpool airport and the DD is far better, as it should be really as having more detailed airports provides an after market trade.

Because I dont like custom Objects especially in Photogrammytry cities which stand out color wise. If I buy an airport I want only an airport. Everything else should be at lease deselectable. Currently you cant even turn off mostly those terrible static AC. I dont like the trend that came with FS2020 and I dont purchase airports until installation is custimzable

Really? It was one of the features that helped me decide to buy the add on, the bridges etc blend really well with the uk update.

I personally like custom building around airports, eg at London City or Salzburg, even if they sometimes stick out too much in photogrammetry cities. But I agree, an option to deactivate custom buildings outside airports and static aircraft would make sense.

Did spot the spelling mistake on the Lands End airport Wellcome (sic) board! Bit shoddy. And the arrows on some of the directions seem to be pointing the wrong way. Minor. But seems odd

Manny delivers again. Thanks for this, I just hopped over the pond for the first time in MSFS and will need some plans in the UK.
