March 1, 20215 yr Was landing at CYXS, which BTW has a nice 5 meters tall bump mid-runway, but nobody noticed, maybe it's like this IRL (please confirm.) But there was a plane waiting short of the runway I was landing at, and ATC told them to wait for ME on final. This never happened before, ATC always ignored me and caused accidents, is this part of an update? R5 3600 - GTX 1070OC - 32GB 3200 - NVME - 3440x1440 160Hz - VR(Quest 2) GarbagePoster™

March 1, 20215 yr From what I can tell playing the sim, ATC is aware of us and can give ATC instructions to AI aircraft that take our flight into account (and vice versa). But ATC does not interact with us with regard to other human controlled (MP) aircraft in the area. Thus, if you see an aircraft pull onto the runway after you have been given clearance to land on that runway, it may well be a human controlled aircraft (though could be faulty ATC as well - it is far from perfect)
March 1, 20215 yr Author I don't know, I always had AI controlled airplanes in the way, until yesterday. Hope it happens again, it added so much to the immersion. R5 3600 - GTX 1070OC - 32GB 3200 - NVME - 3440x1440 160Hz - VR(Quest 2) GarbagePoster™
March 1, 20215 yr It is incredibly nice to notice that there are some good things with MSFS ATC. For me, it is hard to get over at least three things. 1. It is almost a complete waste of time to change the height in NavLog. For example, in the DA62 I fly from YBCS to YBTL and set the Navlog to 6500. ATC then sends me to 7000 or 8000 feet until about 40NM from destination when it tells me to climb to 27000. It does this constantly and is incredibly annoying. Why do they have a Navlog if they do not follow it. 2. If i assign Airforce 001 as my callsign, ATC calls me Cessna 001 and then constantly asks me to acknowledge an instruction to that callsign. It just aint me ... I am Airforce 001. LOL If I change my callsign to A36-001 it calls me A36-001 RAAF spelt out phonetically. 3. Flying from YBCS to YBTL I underwent 36 frequency changes in a forty minute flight. As a result, I file my FPL and use ATC for Taxi and Take off and when they pass me on after take off I simply acknowledge and then tune to an incorrect frequency. I then call them using Nearest Airport for landing and subsequent taxi to parking. That works for me but it is an incredibly annoying system (for me) Before I get blasted LOL, I do know that there are alternatives. Cheers Tony Tony Chilcott. My System. Motherboard. March 1, 20215 yr ATC ordered me to go around twice in Vancouver because the runway was blocked. So, sometimes it's really interesting and makes good on all the wrong flight levels it sent me to.
March 2, 20215 yr I get the go arounds many times at mid to bigger airports. sometimes I have to also watch from getting run over (being GA with a tubeliner behind me). I wish the ATC would also handle traffic seperation realistically (and also get that darn tubeliner to exit the runway when able). James
March 2, 20215 yr Don't use the MSFS flightplanner. I always fly SimBrief generated flightplans and never have these strange altitude changes.

Gerwil, WOW that is a very simple fix ... I shall try it out, however it only solves one small issue among many. Again, I know there are alternatives. Thanks mate Tony Tony Chilcott. My System. March 2, 20215 yr Gerwil, Next question How do I get this flight plan into either MSFS or the Longtitude FMS. I have generated the plan and now I cannot find either the Longtitude or MSFS to download it to? Hel[ LOL Tony Tony Chilcott. My System. Motherboard. March 2, 20215 yr Hey Tony I use the SimBrief Downloader app (on SimBrief: Dispatch/FMS Downloader. This way the paths for the PDF and the MSFS flightplan have to be specified just once. Either way the MSFS flightplan should go to: C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalState In MSFS world map you can then load the plan and it should automatically be in the Longitude as well. Good Luck Edit: Additional, to choose a parking spot or gate use the world map drop down menu. Don't click on the map for that or MSFS will destroy the flightplan 😉 Edited March 2, 20215 yr by Gerwil
March 2, 20215 yr Gerwill, I am somewhat confused. I compiled the plan in Simbrief and then went into the fms downloader however I cannot find either the Cessna Longtitude or MSFS to download it to. I got round it by just entering it into the aircraft flight planner and then adding the SID and STAR so that was sorted but can I download it using the FMS download method and how do I manage to do that. Your help is appreciated mate Thanks Tony Tony Chilcott. My System. Motherboard. ASRock Taichi X570 CPU Ryzen 9 3900x (not yet overclocked).
