Is Zendesk a joke?

Featured Replies

I wouldn't say Zendesk is a joke, although I must admit I've submit dozen of factual reports like many others, without any feedback whatsoever.

Nevertheless, the more I see it and especially since the latest Q&A about the 10 deg bug, the more I think the issue is elsewhere:

https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/discussion-sim-update-3-1-14-5-0/375656/701?u=CptLucky8

Quote

Does it mean their interpretation of the 10deg bug problem was this bug in their code base and since they solved this bug in their code base, they thought they solved the 10 deg bug without actually knowing what it is we are talking about in these forums and therefore begging the question why we are loosing time reporting?

Or

Does it mean this is an unrelated bug they have corrected but the specific 10 deg acceleration bug correction is still not released and won’t be until WU4 or a hot fix in between?

I find this really really puzzling not in terms of not being able to correct bugs, but in terms of is there really someone able to comprehend the reports we send via Zendesk or via Topics with votes, able to understand what it is about, and able to translate this into technical explanation to a sufficient level so that developers can more effectively understand what it is all about.

I’m sorry to insist on this but I believe the 3rd party developers are able to cope with understanding the link between simmers feedback and simulator function, and this further strengthen to me the idea of the shared source approach I’m exposing for the next Q&A and which you can support in clicking the heart icon here:

“Solved” for zendesk means “accepted”. Not intuitive, I know.

Indeed, not intuitive at all...
This is the best way to fool people and make sure they don't ask for a fix 😞

Thanks for the info anyway.

I submitted yesterday the PowerPoint slide-show issue, started with March 9th update, specifying that I'm running in Ultra, WITH Render Scaling set down to 50.

Answer from support desk: go "Under Advanced Settings and scale down "Render Scaling" to 80 instead of 100 or above"

Really?

I think they even don't bother in reading in full the feedbacks we send.

Of course, they probably recienve thousands of posts every day, so don't expect them to open and read a PPT...
Try to keep the posts short, easy to understand, focused on a single bug only with a way to easily reproduce, if possible.

I say this but I am sure that even in this case, they don't read it.

I've submitted a request on Friday and got this automated email which honestly doesn't say much. The  bug I reported is the absence of the wind display in the G3X which was announced in the SU3 release notes.  This is easy to confirm and easy to correct as it was supposed to be in SU3. Time will tell...

Hi Dominique,

Thank you for submitting a bug report. Our team of experts will review the information you provided to categorize and prioritize the issue. Please be aware that, while we review each bug report manually, we are unable to provide an individual update, unless our experts require more information.

Does the XCub use G3X? (pretty sure it does but just checking) if so the Wind Display is working since SU3.

Edit: yep it's there under MORE/OPTIONS. Unless you mean something else?

It does. Where do you see More/options on the G3X display  ?

Thank you very much Marc, really appreciated ! So helpful when flying in the boondocks ! I will try to close my ZD request now.

EDIT  my request had now the "solved" label. Do they follow the Avsim forum in real time 🤣  ?

The correct ticket to file in this instance would be "no documentation provided with product", since if they provided any kind of manual with the sim that was updated with new features you would know where to click.

Fully agreed here, that's a severe omission. They could have avoided hundreds of issues and complaints if they provided proper user documentation. IMO that's a MUST for a complex software like this one.

Is Zen Desk A joke?

Is this done on purpose?

Yes it is.

Zen Desk is a joke, but it's a poor joke, told by a fool, full of fury, signifying nothing and told to an audience, long in the tooth,

who have heard it all before and don't believe a word of it.

Don't waste your time.

I submitted a request tonight because I got the "insert game disc" error message when starting the sim. Within 30 minutes I got a reply letting me know there was a DRM service outage that prevented me from running the simulation. I thought that was suprisingly quick response time, and an accurate response as well.
