I hear that you can make XP11 looks as good as MSFS

What has astonished me is the vitriol that the XP community has thrown at MSFS.

TBF, it wasn't MSFS that got the vitriol, it was the hyperbole.

Some people actually believed them when they said every default plane would be 100% like the real thing with every button working, and there would be no need for any addons - pretty sure some people still do, then they would get mad if anyone pointed out that was never going to happen.

But hey, Its got the microsoft logo on it, a large majority of people would swear on their mothers grave that Asobo Flight Simulator was the better sim even if X-Plane looked 10 times better (which it mostly does in VR).

I've also seen people unironically hoping MSFS to fail because it's financed by Microsoft. After all they're Micro$oft and every single person in Micro$oft is evil and demonic - all they want is to destroy other companies. It doesn't matter if people at Asobo poured their heart and soul into the project - it's financed by Micro$oft so it should die.

In short, both sides need to stop IMO.

As some one who got banned from another forum for the heretical view that actually, for £59, MSFS is actually very good I respectfully suggest that you try it? Both sims have their strengths and weaknesses. But I stick to my earlier point in that LR need to step up a gear, and quickly, before it's too late. As new and better planes are released for MSFS, and all the great looking scenery, I find myself spending  less and less time in X-Plane.

"it"

A perfectly acceptable way to refer to French people....

Not sure I would go that far myself, but I understand the sentiment 😛

And yeah, MSFT does need to die. At least their business strategy of blindly insisting every thing they do is the best "because its Microsoft" whilst ultimately delivering well below average products should never be supported in any way by anyone with more than a little experience in the world. Anything else would be like someone from Turkey saying nice things about the French because they are doing such a good job of taking care of the oil reserves in their waters.

If they do ever release a version that runs on a device I own, I certainly will of course.

But I already tried microsoft windows and all it did was make me want to jump out of the window, so I got rid of it well before MSFS released.

I think the thing now holding X-Plane back is it's Dear Leader whom all must worship. It's time for him to sell it and step down IMO.

People have been saying that for 20+ years.

Just instal it as a second OS with a boot loader option? Honestly, give it a go. I did it with Linux so I am sure you will manage. It will give you a realistic perspective.

I keep seeing this. “Before it’s too late”. Too late for what?

Indeed. And there's the problem.

The problem is that before long developers like you will no longer have a market. Which would be a pity.

And yet he’s been in business since the 90’s. With a team of less than 20. In direct competition with a trillion dollar company. Whereas Microsoft has pulled the plug on the flightsim franchise...twice. The laughs keep coming.

Yeah, I’ve been hearing and reading that since 2009.

XP12 just needs to catch up on modern visuals. Everything else was solid in XP11.

Asus Maximus X Hero Z370/ Windows 10
MSI Gaming X 1080Ti (2100 mhz OC Watercooled)
8700k (4.7ghz OC Watercooled)
32GB DDR4 3000 Ram
500GB SAMSUNG 860 EVO SERIES SSD M.2

And weather simulation, I still need a proper weather radar with predictive windshear.
