However, tone matters too. Intentional or not, your tone is quite harsh and it's not helping anything other than stirring threads and affecting X-Plane's image, given your ties with Laminar Research.

How people interpret my tone is on them. Text is limiting in interpretation.

However, developers are respected people in the community and therefore expected to be more responsible - them joining the same heated hateful comparisons is making things worse.

I have an opinion. Just because some don’t agree with it, doesn’t make me wrong. I never said I hated MSFS. But it’s lacking a lot. What else is there to say?  It’s the truth. I don’t sugar coat.

And weather simulation, I still need a proper weather radar with predictive windshear.

At this point I don't expect any vanilla weather system in a sim to satisfy the wants and needs.

I'll probably always have higher expectations for weather and atc with 3rd party payware.

Yeah, I’ve been hearing and reading that since 2009.

Fine with me. Out of interest why won't you consider developing a plane for MSFS? Even rubbish like the Bredoc 737 thing has sold tens of thousands of copies? The freeware A320nx mod has just passed one million downloads.

I don't have such high standards - at this point accurate weather radar and predicive & reactive windshear is all I want, I just love experimenting with it in P3D.

Simulators I'm using: X-Plane 12, Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020) and FlightGear.

Because MSFS doesn’t have what I need. Simple. It’s far too limiting.

I find it impossible to believe that you have access to their sales figures.

It's no secret. It's on the download site.

PS Exactly what do you need that is missing? I am genuinely interested. PMDG apparently do not now have any issues?

Has this not been locked yet? It’s like a time warp

It doesn't need to be locked the people slinging outright extreme below the belt insults simply need to be reported by all who witness it.

Some outright disrespectful stuff said in here...sheesh

Link?  I’m genuinely curious.
wait. Is it the 14560 number?  Hardly tens of thousands. They grossed 290000 British pounds. Sim market takes between 40-60% of that. Then after taxes, they’re left with a cute profit.

Ah but the plane is also available on the Marketplace and I am reliably informed you can multiply your figure by a least ten. They bought the model off the shelf. Estimates I've seen say it would have been about sixty hours work to get it how it is. Not a bad return for a week and a half's work.

wow this thread as derailed pretty hard...

I like this thread a lot, please, don't close it!

I feel like as long as arguing is constructive, and not vindicative, nor personal, it is fine. It is hard sometimes to differentiate cynicism, sarcasm, and genuine misinterpretations due to English not being the 1st language, text medium is lacking body language which usually we subconsciously factor in.

I believe it is fine accepting every one can't agree with everyone else, otherwise we'd all be clones without much self-esteem. Opinions are opinions though, and facts are facts. Not always easy to know which is which sometimes.

I agree.

This thread lead me to reload my XPlane 11.4 and I keep getting the "there's a new version available" but do not want to upgrade. I like what I have. Is there any way to disable the update prompt?

All I wanted to do is try to mod my XP11 the best that I can to do a compare shot because this is something I hear a lot that XP11 with the right mod can look good. CYVR is my home airport.

Then it wouldn’t be arguing. It would be debating 🙂
