I hear that you can make XP11 looks as good as MSFS

But by that very same logic I would still be using Flight Simulator II on my old Commodore64? Things move on. They always have and always will.

Yup,

Or, for example, the windows NT kernel from 1993 (with lipstick on of course).

Nah, this is Microsoft, it never worked, but if they say its superior and secure to enough people, enough of them believe it to keep the shareholders happy. At least until they put out a "new" one with a slightly different and "newer" look.

It seems to work on my PC? 90% of the advances in PC technology over the last thirty years have been about improving graphics. My PC now consumes as much power as a small electric fire. Same with flight sims. It's all about the graphics when it comes down to it as far as their evolution is concerned.

That second link definately works on your PC, some 250,000 different choices and growing quarterly.

That overly done ambient occlusion!!  The aircraft are, literally, pitch black on the underside!

Just saw this is a new reshade for X-Plane.  TBH, I thought it was someone's attempt at photoshopping X-Plane.

Whoever did this, needs to go back to the drawing board.

Sure, but it looks like MSFS. Mission accomplished.

Now all it needs is clouds that look like nuclear fallout and they'll have perfection.

You put the same weather engine as MSFS2020 in XP and nothing else is needed. For the rest we already know how to do it!. With Ortho or orbx TrueEarth with this MSFS clouds would be magic!

Yesterday I did two flights with  Carenado CT182T .

-The first flight with the one for XP and it was an incredible pleasure in the piloting sensations.

-The second with the one for MSFS and it was an incredible pleasure visual

I hear you can make MSFS feel as good as X-Plane. Oh wait, maybe that was just a dream.

Maybe Ortho is sufficient to you but lighting/shaders is what makes XP11 looks like it's 20 years old.  I am tired of paying 50$ per region to get what I get for free on MSFS. I would rather keep my hard earned dollars on Aircraft.

Don't you know how to create FREE ortho's, that aren't based on Bing scenery that's 5 years old?

When I fly in XP (even P3D back in the day), I feel like I am flying in a simulator. When I fly in MSFS, I feel like I am flying in the real world (because I am). There is just no comparison...

For XP, an upgrade in graphics would be nice, but when a 1 story suburban home is sitting where a shopping mall sits in real life, you sort of lose that real world feeling...

But why does he need to create anything extra, when he can get "that and more" from the original MSFS purchase? I'd prefer to save both money...and time.

I do and I have TB of that data. It's nowhere near as good as what MSFS has done and I don't need need a huge HDD just to store that data.
