I hear that you can make XP11 looks as good as MSFS

and MSFS (according to their stats) has over 2 million pilots who "know" that your statements are not true.

No kidding??  Can you link me to these stats that say MSFS has over 2 million pilots flying it who "know" Sparks statements to not be true??  I'm legitimately interested!

Is this the same example as Asobo going to the Daher factory and getting the engineers to verify the realism of the TBM (with an INCREASING torque as it climbs...defying the laws of physics.  I gotta admit, seeing that happen on something I paid good money for...THAT would frustrate me to no end!)??

Do these 2 million pilots fully endorse this unusual behaviour?

Soooooo MSFS made the statement about the 2 million pilots (and everyone knew that they were referring to their users as "pilots" in their sim). And these pilots would surely know the X, Y, and Z about the sim, and be able to contradict any lies being spread about how the sim functions.

No embarrassment here...

You sure you have more important stuff to do??? or did the XP devs stop finding it fun to pass memes amongst themselves???

Still waiting for that link.

Oh wait.  So they're not REAL pilots?  Microsoft is just claiming they are?

Hey, like someone once said, substitute "lies" for "what you believe".

And even X-Plane dev's take breaks once in a while.  And we all know where we can go to find endless meme material.

😄

Gets funnier every day, people wanting to believe lies, yep lots of them. People actually believe MS care about them... 😄 🤣 🙄

That was 3 months ago before Xmas. Giving that X box version will release soon, by Xmas 2021 there could be 9-10 million MSFS users, and that's being conservative.

Ok, so they're not ACTUAL pilots.  They're virtual pilots.

Thanks for the link!  Let us all know when multi wing aircraft are available, with TRUE multi wing flight models.

btw, I love how you come up with these crazy figures of 9-10 million users.  Do you have a formula for that?

What is so silly is it is supposed to be so good yet they are buying airports and scenery to improve it. Same old theme. And no I have no probs with MS 202 I just have no confidence IN MS$, im still waiting on the money grab. Considering the last one failed because it couldnt make money. Looks of speculation no facts.

"Over 2 million" PC users can easily be projected to 5 million (or more) total after another 380 days including 2 christmases.  Second thing, there are over 100 million active Xbox live users (Satya Nadella). MSFS only has to take 5% of the market to get another 5+ million users. There's your 10 million total. If MSFS takes only 10% that's a total of 15 million users etc.  10 million (or even 15 million) could be on the low side.

Ok, so it's best guess and optimism.

Now I'll give you my take (not that you care, but others might).

Sales will ALWAYS taper off.  ALWAYS.  It's just the way it is.

But let's entertain your business plan for a minute.  I'll even go 1 better.  I'll hypothetically say that Microsoft will sell 20 million copies of MSFS between August 2019 and August 2020 for XBox.  That's quite a bit of money.  Now here's the real kicker.  Are you ready for this??

Who cares!?

X-plane will still have customers during the latest MSFS version run.  X-Plane had customers during FS9, FSX, P3D.  I remember people acting exactly like they are now when they heard LM would be throwing billions behind Microsoft Flight Simulator and X-Plane never stood a chance.  And back then, I thought everyone who said that was just as delusional as they are now.

Actually, I've seen a very nice sales INCREASE in my own add ons ever since MSFS came out.  After doing some research, I found out it was because more people were introduced to flight simming from various youtubers and streamers who were demo'ing MSFS.  So I HOPE your figures are on the low end.

I have a copy of FSX havnt touched it in 2 years. Many will buy and loose interest, it doesnt kill peopel and earns s no points, you cant beat the other guy, and that is what the gaming market is, I dont know why you are so angry and wanting XPLANe to Fail, if you hate it so much, go sleep with the other women, she will break your heart and steal your money.

I very much dislike photogrammetry in MFS and have it switched off. The autogen is much nicer IMO and less heavy on my system. For me, it's spikey, low quality and visually very distracting as it pops in and out. I know this is all related to machine and internet speed, but for me, I just don't like it.

X-Plane's default autogen actually looks pretty good at ground level, but once you're viewing it from above it looks very unnatural, robotic and just not realistic at all. Maybe having everything in grids is fine in the US, but just looks wrong here in Europe.

On the flip-side of the coin, MFS's autogen does not look good to me at ground level even though the models are very detailed. However, it looks fantastic once up in the air, and this is the whole point of a flight simulator is it not? I honestly couldn't care less about seeing little mailboxes and cars on driveways, as long as when I'm flying over it at 130kts at 3000ft it's believable and accurate enough.

I set dsf_fade_ratio to about 5 - perfect for VR -, makes the autogen disappear into the ortho.

Yes, I agree. The one thing it's got going for it though is it avoids every city looking much the same. You can see Venice is Venice and London is London. I think if LR can build in some regionality into XP12 it will transform it.

The FS2020 rendering engine is better than Xplane.
However with some tweeks (xvision, reshade, new skycolors, etc) even Xplane can have nice graphics in colors, contrasts, lighting.

I think that I've managed to make XP11.41 look better than MSFS:
