Has A2A produced anything for MSFS yet.?

Nothing's out yet, but they're working on it. Popular conjecture has it that the Connie and possibly even the B377 could be on the list of conversions.

As impressed as I am with the DC6, and it really is excellent, I slightly preferred the Connie. The level of detail in both is pretty close, but the Connie was a little more interesting, with its inertia starters, etc. A2A also did something that PMDG never does, which was to put you in the role of an actual airline PIC. There are passengers back there, and they make noise. They greet the stewardess when they board. They scream if you hit large pockets of turbulence or smash the landing. The stewardess gives you grief if you fly poorly. She also offers you coffee or Sanka. 😉    Each flight gets rated. If you fly badly enough, you'll have a black mark in your log. You might even get "fired."  I found myself enjoying that quite a bit, so I'm hopeful those suppositions that the plane will make its way to MSFS turn out to be true.

Looks like some DC-6 have weather radar

Weather radar is not required for cargo only operations, but any transport category (Part 25) aircraft that carries passengers is required to have weather radar. Alaska can definitely get some pretty big thunderstorms in summer.

From what I have seen in various Everts videos, their DC-6 fleet all have GPS - I have seen GTN430 in some, and at least one with a King KLN-90 coupled to an Avidyne flight display. They also appear to be equipped with a Class B TAWS terrain awareness system, and either TCAD or a full-fledged TCAS.

And since 2020, any US-registered aircraft flying IFR has to have ADSB-out.

KLN90 must die! LOL I flew with 89B it was pain!

P.S. By the way ADS requires not only for IFR! As per FAR 91.225 class A,B,C class E at or above 10k, 30 miles of class B and so on. Basically all aircraft now equipped with ADS B out in urban areas.

Yep. My local airport, though towered, and with an approach/departure control, is class D, and there are quite a few holdouts among the local GA community who have not upgraded. Most are weekend VFR-only pilots who would rarely have reason to fly into class C or B. Though I live in the northeastern US, there is a rather large geographic area that is rural, and well away from any airspace requiring ADSB-out. Most of the northern part of Pennsylvania, and much of south central New York is in that category. SYR, ROC and BUF are all class C, but ELM, ITH, BGM and IPT are class D.

Locally, the uAvionix all-in-one unit that replaces a nav light has been a popular solution for older aircraft that already have a working Mode C transponder, followed by the Garmin GDL 82

Now ADS-B installation is easier than ever ! So many option for a reasonable price. Witnessing so many midairs over the years, I wonder why some folks still hesitate !

Me, too.

Which is funny, because unlike most people seem to, I find the Connie, visually, to be an awkward, ungainly thing.  But something about the A2A interpretation always felt just a little more alive to me than the DC6.

That said, I haven't tried the 6 in MSFS yet.   I bought it, just been busy with work-stuff.  Need to make the time to try it out so I don't end up just a desk pilot.  😄

DC-6 actually can be pretty handful! Here I'm flying at 20000 ft, trying to magae supercharger while keeping engines cool 🙂

I flew the A2A Connie for awhile, and just got tired of it for some reason. I enjoy flying the DC6 more than I ever did the Connie.

A familiar refrain. The DC-6 is out, I'd better have a Connie, the 777-300 is out, I'd better have the 777F,  the 747 with GE engines is out, I'd better have the RR equipped one, the aspirated version of the Arrow is out, I'd rather have the turbo😅.   Now, I must admit that  I miss the crying baby and the coffee brought to me by the charming stewardess that I had in the Strat'.

Since there can be a lot to manage on the DC-6, did some of you try the shared cockpit ? Could be funny …
