Hasn't cured that one for me.   Maybe one in ten shutdowns are ok, the rest of the time its CTD every time.

Still, if you're going to have CTD's there's worse times to get them 🙂

Exactly the same for me, event viewer is riddled with a list of crashes on every shutdown. Either FlightSimulator.exe or ucrtbase.dll . As you say however its not exactly the most major CTD issue out there.

For sure easiest CTD to live with is when quitting the sim.

Heres a question for you - state which version of MSFS2020 you are having issues with Microsoft Store version or Steam version - bet most issues due to MS Store version - Steam here and all good here

Just a thought Folks got rid of the dumpster fire MS Store version day two and never looked back

Oh and thank you Ed Patino for talking some sense into me to go Steam

It's the same software once you get past the loading screen, there are only a few minor differences in things like some pathing areas or the way dev mode sees the paths.

Yup and thats just enough to cause a problem imo - convoluted folder structure not smart

Okay gotta say this but this my first time facing CTDs a lot since release. Somewhat it reminds me of X-Plane vulkan beta. I saw in other YouTube video, one guy was having CTDs a lot after SU5 and it turns out a livery was causing this. In my case, CTDs are just random and not always reproducible. I will continue investigating.

But somewhat, I feel we are back to August last year 🥴

You are not alone, though I did have CTD's on one machine prior to this (pretty random but uncommon), the other PC I often use here is also getting CTD's, and it never really had any except for several patches ago. This update is not stable. I tried to tell everyone that yesterday that were saying how great this update was, but in reality, this is the least stable update of all of them. Just because some users will revel in how well it is running, they got lucky in their config (so far) and their addon choices, but there are literally 10+ new scenarios this version can cause a CTD, even after the hotfix.

Not complaining, just stating reality.

Well, this update makes the game MUCH MUCH more sensitive to issues with Addons and USB devices, regardless of Steam OR MS version. I haven't seen many differences in this update to be frank, one of my PC's has Steam Version and that's the one getting the most CTD right now, for whatever reason.

Alpine dont forget all the yummy administration rights problems and there is - prob one of the major issues with MS version

Thats interesting and a bit strange to be honest - the simplicity of the Steam folder structure right off the bat eliminates issues

I had a bad experience with rights on MS version so I moved on and so glad I did - in my mind sim is actually worth the two purchases so not that worked up about it

Two MSFS pc’s here. Both installed from the MSFS Store.

One starts normally and the other only when the XBox Live App is running.

For now I have it set to startup and run in the background.

This wasn’t needed before the latest update.

Any suggestions?

The steam version has had a bit fewer issues through the life of the updates, yes. I use the MSFS version on one PC just for development mostly, I prefer the MSFS version for development, it doesn't really make much difference it just makes one of my batch files easier to read / shorter. That said, I agree, the Steam version is the safer bet in general for most regular users, but the MS version isn't that much different. There are just so many random things that can cause CTD now after this patch, doesn't really matter that much in this update IMHO.

Im not saying every MS Store version is not working correctly - just thought it would be nice to get an idea which versions are having problems to narrow things down possibly

So true but that MS Store folder structure and admin rights is not forgiving you mess with it you will prob be in a world of hurt

Hmm, did you check for like a profile issue tied to the XBOX Live thing?
That's weird, I'd be interested to know when you figure it out what it was.

I could provide other suggestions, but they mostly involving reinstalling Windows, or at the very least reinstalling the SIM.
