Weird banding and colors in the clouds. Super bright unnatural sunlight. Autogen pop-up (it’s pop-up, not pop-in gamers). Controllers/mouse issues. etc etc etc.

Manage your expectations, it help with general and understandable frustration” If you re read my post, Im only referring to updates and patch notes, where I even mention “understandable frustration” absolutely nothing about anyone’s general issues or problems with the sim. I myself have many issues with it, but I’m referencing many peoples anger than many issues weren’t fixed, even though it wasn’t included in the patch notes. I quoted that one part because it was the only one relevant to the point I wished to make. My post wasn't an attempt to take a shot at you, but simply to make the general observation that, even with managing expectations, there's a lot of reason to be dissatisfied. While there was quite a bit I was willing to excuse when the sim first came out, after all this time, I would expect it to be much more stable than it currently is -- as someone observed, when the sim first came out, it was at "late alpha" stage, and it's really only gotten to "beta" after all this time -- and that we wouldn't need to worry about being a winner or loser in the "Configuration Lottery" every month. July 31, 20214 yr Well, here's my first test. This is also the first time since SU5 because, by the time that one finished downloading and installing on my system, the hotfix had already been announced, so I decided to wait. Took the C152 from KJFK (I'm sure the airline pilots loved having to wait for a Cessna to take off), and did around a half-hour loop above NYC at 1500 elevation. Dawn, scattered clouds. Looked great. Normally, on my older hardware, I would have been hard-pressed to get FPS in the 30s at medium; this time, I was in the 40s even after bumping my settings to high. Sounds great, except...when I finished the loop, landed at KTEB, and shut down the aircraft, I got a logbook entry showing a 5:49 (?) flight with arrival and departure both at KSEZ (vicinity). In other words, Sedona (??). Then, when I clicked on the "return to main menu" button -- CTD (which I believe is the first I've ever experienced in the product). Not anywhere near as bad as others here have experienced, but still...weird. Edited July 31, 20214 yr by JDWalley James David Walley Ryzen 7 7700X, 32 GB, RTX 3080
July 31, 20214 yr Wow, this version is all sorts of effed up, eww. I am losing my cursor in the main menu for 20-40 seconds along a ton of other anomalies. They definately took the same approach with SU5 as with General Release. Let's release it so we can meet the announced timeline, we will worry about the bugs later. Jacek G. July 31, 20214 yr Gosh. Coming here does nothing for those of still using P3D wondering about making "the switch". You can throw-up all the pretty pictures you want, but when I read about constant updates, CTD, stutters...what does it matter? Same old sim cycle of life/story. Empty promises. I wish someone could just get it right. A. For the first time in I don't know how long, I activated photogrammetry today out of curiosity, and instantly noticed that the unrelenting "greyness" of it was noticeably altered by the updated lighting..... into something that actually had a bit of color to it. I kind of approve. I also note that something people spent an awful lot of time complaining about last time I looked: Photogrammetry turning into shapeless blobs even at relatively close distances..... Seems much reduced. Just did a fly round Tokyo and the PG was pretty stunning. The greyness as you say is gone and it was sharp really very close up (i was in a heli... generally around 400-500ft AGL) It was very impressive. The lighting isn't quite there yet.. it definitely can look a bit over exposed since the hotfix, but they are heading in the right direction in my opinion. London and Bristol still look like melted nightmares but at least they aren't so grey 😄
