Hotfix 1.18.14.0 is now live!

So, after a CTD mid flight on the first post-patch flight with the TBM, I was able to do 2 flights with the 172 without any issues at all. Time to go outside for a while. I'll try another TBM later tonight. My only complaint with the two 172 flights is the really washed out view. I definitely don't recall it being that bad before SU5. The sim is running super smooth though.

Just did another test flight with the CJ4. Smooth as butter. No CTDs. AI is now working. Cranked up the LOD to 4 and oh boy does she look purdy. I am going to do a 4 to 5 hour flight today to shake it down a bit more but this version is really good - for me. Temps are low (70 C for both CPU and GPU) and everything is solid.

It takes a brave person to expect MSFS to run with no hitches on a beta operating system, good luck though.

It has not been an issue until this

Newbie alert! So ayup, Howdo , Hello and bonjour.

Its been an entertaining couple of days, a big crash fest along with most others yesterday.

The hotfix has seemed so far to fix things, all my addons apart from Bajans fauna are now active including those Alps meshes on .to.

Only had the one 1 1/2hr  flight in the JF Turbo arrow from Trento to Innsbruck in VR, but now able to see the beautiful Alps in all their glory at  %100 rendering for the first time. Clouds on the peaks and in the valleys, magnificent. Credit to Asobo for getting this far really.

Its like riding a bike, push too hard and fast and sometimes you crash, but you curse & carry on afterwards to get good times again.

10x times worse for me.  Pop in is egregiously bad now.  It was present before, but at least bearable. Track IR pan is also far more stuttery.  Same thing...it was present before, but now it's jarring.  But hey...70 FPS when I don't move my head!

Ok so far.  Issues yes but I learned to deal with them.  I tend to chill during these installs / been their, done that many times.

My big complaint is the pastel world.  Very nice but HDR on my Samsung is half-baked and not pretty to look at unless you are doing acid.

Cheers

Still not getting the update. But after reading some over at the Official forum it would seem that is because I am on Win11. The M$ Store in Win11 requires you to update the game via the xBox App. Unfortunately that app just refuses to see the update at all. SO I am stuck in a loop of the game directing me to the store which then directs me to the app which just takes me back to the game. I know I am only 69 so maybe not quite a Grumpy Old Guy but this is starting to word not allowed me off and I am about to join the "It was fine b4 SU4" crowd.

I am on windows 11 as well.

The update came late, but it did eventually decide to suddenly pop up.

Yeah, same here. I do wonder if the people with the issues tinker with too many settings on their computers like turning off windows game mode, hardware scheduling, overclocking etc. I keep everything at default unless absolutely necessary and rarely have any issues with most games.

Yes I do that too. I used to turn of all sorts of services and would have issues later. When I built this new pc I left everything as default and the sim runs perfectly for me me.

I'm in windows 11 and have done all the updates. The trick is you have to have patience, if you don't you will lose your mind like I almost did 😁

Just open the Xbox app, go to your library and click on the sim. The update will probably already be there and you can just click update. If not let it sit on that screen until it automatically pops up and starts downloading. That's how it has always happened for me. Good luck

I think part of the reason with the CTDs are that the sim is now optimized for Xbox with only two sets of hardware.

On the PC side there are a million combinations of different hardware and software.

The shortcut Asobo thought they could do isn't working (one version for both environments).

Non working planes for me (those I have tested) are the FBW 320 - CTD, Caranado Ovation -INOP fuel selector and Embraer 110 - INOP transponder. Can't be bothered to try any more, it's broken, nerfed, screwed, bucketed, grulloped....Let's face it. It's F.....!

What version of FBW are you using? Experimental works good for me but not stable or dev. And the other will for sure fix their problems.

I had tried all of that for the last 6 hours and it never showed the Update button. But I figured a way to fool it. Rename the Directory where MSFS is installed, then click Uninstall in the xBox App, Change the install Dir back to original name, then click Install in the xBox App. Took just over 2 minutes from start to finish and I now have 1.18.14.0 installed. Only thing that worries me is the In-Game update was only something like 904k. But the game loaded up just fine. I closed it out to come and post I finally got it and now will set up my "Stuff" on my desk and go check things out and see if it helped me any.

Has there been any feedback from XBOX users - I wonder if they are also having some problems?

A tip.

Dial back your graphics settings, I initially thought "hey better performance" and everything will be fine when I start up. it seems that with this optimization is spreading the resources into other areas creating the hang ups and crashes.

Today I used the dev. tool to see how much I was red lining and altered accordingly. In my case Terrain and Objects LOD I dialled back from 200 to 140 on both and a few others from Ultra to High and it stabilised with less red.

This also due to the update as also given me %100 rendering in VR, please try the dev tool to guide you , don't stick to your original defaults.

Regards.
