It took me about two more goes before I realised that I had to practically shove the rudder pedal through the floor at that kind of airspeed to actually get the thing to autorotate! It's hilarious they basically don't have those in the Uber visually detailed default aircraft, nearly 20 years later. But when you use it during flight you will recive structural demage. Also things like the engine page on the MFD: I tend to fly either things that are fully steam like that "50's diner with a tailwheel" that masquerades as a Cessna- the C140, the Grumman Goose or the Piaggio P149 - or otherwise I prefer something with a proper touch screens such as this Husky or one of the gtn750 equipped JF Warrior/Archers. I am not overly fond of the "in-betweens" from the turn of this century like the G1000 or gtn430/gtn530 . Edited August 5, 20214 yr by Glenn Fitzpatrick
August 5, 20214 yr Nice, but pretty much all default aircraft now have glass cockpits 😕 I would rather have a classic / clockwork style option too... The cockpit they chose has the LEAST Glass and most steam of all the currently available loadouts. https://aviataircraft.com/husky-radio-packages/ Option 1. PRO IFR TOUCH Option 2. G3X Option 3. The Vis is awesome... can fly up high, or at 100 feet. The husky looks pretty cool! https://flightsim.to/file/5061/savage-grravel-monster-truck-in-the-skies
August 5, 20214 yr I might be being silly, but... How do you actually start the engines on this plane? I'm following the instructions on the in-game checklist, and even if I tell it to autocomplete, the propeller starts for a few seconds, then pewters out.
August 5, 20214 yr Nevermind, it worked after restarting the flight. Clearly I was doing something wrong.

Check your fuel lever (must be on for sure), master batteries on, mixture rich, fuel pump on, magneto both + starter. Next alternator, avionics ect. I've been flying that non stop ever since. Done maybe ten minutes in the Husky.
August 5, 20214 yr Curious to know what you guys find so fascinating about GA bush planes and flying? Is it because bush flying has more freedom, no liimts, land pretty much anywhere, where as with traditonal GA flying, you have more rules, and fly by the books, etc? Well, the laws of physics still apply to bush planes but the sense of freedom for me is best demonstrated by something which can fly inches above the ground/trees/water and land anywhere too. Hand on stick flying into a canyon or a creek is much, much more fun than having autopilot fly a tubeliner for me from Palm Springs to Seattle.
August 5, 20214 yr Sounds quite fun. I haven't done any bush flying yet. Would you guys recommend the Aviat Husky as a good starter plane to get into the hobby of bush flying? What's the best plane for bush flying currently? August 5, 20214 yr Yes. Now keep in mind I do love meticulous long haul planning, lengthy taxi hoping to make my slot, busy ATC and climb, speed intervening to make my NATS arrival using predicted time, SLOP on the NATS, CPDLC enroute, a torturous arrival and lengthy hold and finally a CAT 2 to minimums, arriving within 2% of my fuel calculations. The Got Grravel and it’s ilk allow me to reminisce about my 7AC with my left elbow out the window, and right hand on the stick, doing Chandelles and strafing cattle. There’s room for both a hold at LAM and a river splash before running up on a sandbar in Idaho… that’s the magic of flight simulation.
