The French have a widely used, slightly vulgar expression for this kind of people, from a cult movie called Les Tontons Flingueurs, ‘les cons ça ose tout, c’est même à ça qu’on les reconnaît’ (jerks dare everything that is even by what we recognize them) Dominique Simming since 1981 - [email protected] GHz with 16 GB of RAM and a 1080 with 8 GB VRAM running a 27" @ 2560*1440 - Windows 10 - Warthog HOTAS - MFG pedals - MSFS Standard version with Steam

Let the people who are demanding that the Asobo flight sim team work over the weekend pay them double time out of their own pockets, as top dev's I'd imagine that they on a lot of money per hour, it might cost them a pretty penny.😉 AMD 9800X3D, NZXT X73 RGB AIO COOLER, Gigabyte X870 Aorus Elite WIFI7, 64GB 6000MHZ RAM, 4TB Samsung Pro NVME, 4 TB Crucial P3+ NVME, 4TB Crucial SSD, Gigabyte Gaming OC Geforce RTX5090, Antec C8 ARGB Case, X55 JOYSTICK/THROTTLES, LG 4K C4 42" TV/Monitor 120 Hz, 2 Dell 1080 monitors. August 6, 20214 yr Although I wouldn't demand Asobo work over the weekend, this is a Massively Multiplayer Orientated Game/Sim to a certain degree. Not just that aspect but the Cloud based technology running on servers 24/7, so someone at Asobo is (or at least should be) working/on call at weekends, but probably not the coding guys responsible for the patches and hotfixes of course. Besides that the hotfix can be released when it's ready, god forbid they release that with extra issues on top! Pico Neo3 Link VR - Windows 11 64bit, Gigabyte Z590 Aorus Elite Mobo, i7-10700KF CPU, Gigabyte RX 9070 XT OC 16gb (AMD GPU), 32gig Corsair 3600mhz RAM, SSD x2 + M.2 SSD 1tb x1 Saitek X45 HOTAS - Saitek Pro Rudder Pedals - Logitech Flight Yoke - Homemade 3 Button & 8-directional Joystick Box, SNES Controller (used as a Button Box - Additional USB Numpad (used as a Button Box)
August 6, 20214 yr What makes them think they/some of them aren't working over the weekend anyway? A lot of developers work crazy hours standard, often because they want to. Because they're passionate about it. I think my brother only gives himself Sundays off, and even then he'll choose to carry on working sometimes if he's trying to figure out an annoying bug. Still, they are allowed days off. You'll only end up with more bugs in your code, anyway, if your concentration is gone and your vision is blurred. No amount of coffee can compensate for sleep and relaxation. The audacity of some people...
August 6, 20214 yr They may work the weekend and take time in lieu (if such a thing exists in France!) once the hotfix is out, or just take over time, or just not work the weekend! I agree the hotfix needs to be released when it's done correctly and fit for purpose. We all got in this mess with Asobo/MS releasing a product before it was finished and ready for the masses, but I understand why it was released when it was. This is a team where there's no-one able to add updated files to the Marketplace the week after a massive update requiring many if not most of the marketplace files to be updated. Careful staff resource planning doesn't seem to be a high priority. Edited August 6, 20214 yr by Matchstick

I did not know that this has been already discussed in the forums and would affecting other people too.

No amount of coffee can compensate for sleep and relaxation. Indeed. And there are plenty of studies and real-world experiments which show that people who work 30-35 hour weeks often end up being both more productive and happier than those who "work" 40, let alone people forced into insane overtime. It's a lesson in humanity that some of the more enlightened countries of Europe are starting to take to heart, and maybe one day the US will wise up as well. The folks at Asobo are a really dedicated team, though. They've often made themselves available in the (for them) late evening hours when we needed to work with them directly on something, and it's much appreciated. Folks shouldn't begrudge them their weekends. 😄 Edited August 6, 20214 yr by kaosfere

Little known fact - Did you know that David Suchet (the best Poirot actor) clasped a coin between his buttock cheeks to perfect Poirot's 'rapid, mincing gait'? A trick he says he borrowed from Laurence Olivier. Rather better known fact - SU5 update aint appening today by the looks of it.
