Talk about having to jump through hoops! Thanks everyone who helped me! I owe you one 🙂 That's weird that it works for some people after they install the X-Box app. I have no idea why that would solve the problem. Maybe Asobo can explain it to us. i5-12400, RTX 3060 Ti, 32 GB RAM

I have never seen anything like it. It doesn't make any sense why installing the X-Box app would get the update to work. Wish Asobo could explain this to us. i5-12400, RTX 3060 Ti, 32 GB RAM
August 7, 20214 yr I got stuck in a similar Xbox loop. I had to repair / reset the XBox app in Add/Remove programs to force it to detect the update. Then again, I'm on Windows 11 Beta so I expect to see bugs like this. Have a great weekend flying everyone! ✈️🛩️ 9800X3D | 5080 | 32GB | 2TB NVME | Dell Ultrasharp U3415W 34" | 3440 x 1440 60Hz

I don't think Asobo is focusing their testing on Windows 11 yet, since Windows 11 isn't even officially out for the public to purchase. I wonder how many people that had to install the X-Box app were running Windows 11. Edited August 7, 20214 yr by abrams_tank i5-12400, RTX 3060 Ti, 32 GB RAM

August 7, 20214 yr I am a bit confused by all this. For my penny worth when I clicked on the MSFS Icon on my task bar immediately my computer changed to the security screen and asked me if I wanted to install, yes/no. I clicked 'Yes' and the update was done in under a second. I had checked the 'store' earlier and there were no updates, other than some dross. I now have the latest version and all is well. Just checked the store again, it is there showing as 'installed'. It must have auto-installed. Edited August 7, 20214 yr by Andy675

In Windows 11, MSFS is installed and updated by the XBox app - not the MS Store app. But yea, the update process is confusing - especially if things go wrong. 9800X3D | 5080 | 32GB | 2TB NVME | Dell Ultrasharp U3415W 34" | 3440 x 1440 60Hz
August 7, 20214 yr How Do I get this Hotfix? Started my Steam version right now. No update in Steam. No Update during startup. No update in Content Manager. I am confused. August 7, 20214 yr I wasn't getting the update until I installed and ran the Xbox app about 20 minutes ago at which point the update suddenly appeared in the store. I have zero idea if the XBox app actually did anything but probably worth a try if you still can't see the update.

Thank you The store has finally let me download the update the morning I tried logging out of the store, rebooting, logging back in, then installing and running the XBox app and after all that I got the update in the store. I don't know if any of it actually had any effect but might be worth trying.

The main page at the store shows apps that are part of Windows 10 by default, including things many people do not use like “solitaire collection”. Pressing “get updates” will update these default apps, but I have never seen that work to force an MSFS update. What works (for me) 100 percent of the time is to click the menu option that says “All Owned”. This will bring up a different display, showing apps you have actually purchased. If you have the Premium Deluxe version, you will see three MSFS entries, including “Microsoft Flight Simulator”, MSFS Premium Deluxe” and “Digital Ownership”. If you click on the top MSFS entry in the list, it will open a pop-up window giving more details about the product with a blue “Play” button. Do not click “play” - (that will simply launch the game). Instead, just leave that window open and wait a few moments. At least on my system, if an update is available, it will always start downloading with that window open. Sometimes it starts immediately, sometimes it might take 60 seconds before the existence of a new update is detected and it starts downloading, but I have always been able to initiate an update with this technique. That is exactly my method of updating as well, and my problem yesterday and today was that that did not work. I would leave that window open with the play button, and it wouldnt not change to update or auto-update at all. Andreas Stangenes http://www.youtube.com/user/krsans78 Add me on gamertag: Bullhorns78
