August 7, 20214 yr I really don't like the Xbox Aviators Club liveries, and as I will neve use them (and they come to 1.5GB disk space), I tried to delete them from my Content Manager in the sim. This resulted in the sim hanging and I had to hard close it. I therefore went into the "Official" folder and removed the liveries manually. On launching MSFS, I then got a "Mandatory Update" of 1.5GB, which went ahead and reinstalled the XBox Aviators Club liveries!!! Can it be right that having some additional liveries of circa 1.5GB disk space, are "mandatory" as part of the MSFS installation? August 7, 20214 yr Just a thought (I haven't tried it myself)... when you tried to uninstall from Content Manager, did you try to uninstall the Aviator's Club livery package (which has them all bundled) or did you try to uninstall the individual liveries? It might be worth trying both ways (package vs individual) to see if it behaves differently. PC: I9-10900K, RXT 3090, 64GB RAM, 3840x1080 49" super-ultrawide

They need to change the checksum for this content so we can delete. I'll never use it either Semper Fi

August 7, 20214 yr The enormous SU5 download has almost busted my 200GB cap this month, so yes, I’d appreciate mean and lean downloads without stuff that should be optional. I was able to delete them through Content Manager, but initially I had the same hang as you when I selected them all. I started doing them one or two at a time, and noticed each one takes a staggering amount of time to uninstall. So far, they have stayed uninstalled through two hotfixes. After the hang and kill, I was also forced into an update. That didn't happen following the few by few deletion. The kill must have corrupted the package so it had to be downloaded again. August 8, 20214 yr You need to delete them one by one from the Content Manager and it takes a while for each to go. They are really awful liveries and should be optional.
August 8, 20214 yr but but ... if you do not have those liveries loaded, how are you going to know when XBox people in multiplayer are using them so you can give them a hard time about it ...

August 8, 20214 yr Reminds me of the weird fascination of people wearing huge branding logos on their clothes, walking around like a giant billboard advertisement. I never got it. Why on earth would anyone want to fly a plane with Xbox branding written all over it?

I guess you could equally ask that about the Red Bull DC-6 or the Breitling display team's aerobatic aeroplanes, or any number of other aeroplanes with logos on it and there are plenty of those kicking around. No, the first time I tried I thought MSFS had crashed as it took so long so I forcibly closed MSFS and opened it again. Then it downloaded them all again as I hadn't uninstalled them correctly. But when I removed them one by one and waited for them to finish then it didn't make me download them again. Same for the Aviators Club.
