August 30, 20214 yr After all the releases and hotfixes we are still unable to properly configure a joystick axis for the "Steering Tiller" function 😕 It's a true PITA to have to set it incrementally, and then very carefully use a rotation ( Z ) axis in a controller to go with it ... X-Plane has it since v10, P3D got it don't remember since which version ( maybe 4 ? ) but in MFS no good ... August 30, 20214 yr This has been one of my asks from day 1, especially to help properly steer heavy aircraft on the ground. FSX had it, P3D had it, X-Plane had it, so not sure why the MSFS team does not think this is important. Sincerely, Dennis D. Müllert System Specs: MoBo: MSI MAG X870 Tomahawk WiFi ATX AM5. August 30, 20214 yr I thought FSX didn't have it, that you had to use FSUIPC to get that functionality vatsim s3

P3D included it since early versions though. The weirdiness is that ASOBO included a rather useless / fake / unatural - that "set steer" command and then the "steering L R C " button assignement, which I try to map to my T16000 Z axis. It works but it's not practical at all 😕 Flying gliders since 1980 Flightsimming since 1992 AMD Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB, 1 TB and 500 GB nvme2 SSD drives, HP 27" 60Hz LED monitor @ 1920x1080, T16000, Hotas from old X52 Pro, Saitek Combat Rudder Pro (2010 model)
August 30, 20214 yr Do any of you have a stand alone tiller for the sim, not just a twist axis on a current controller? Anthony Neumann
August 30, 20214 yr I have Airbuses tiller replica. I set it via FSUIPC. It works as it supposed but with minor issue. When I taxi and had to do sharp turns the aircraft keeps going straight, I had to use rudder pedal to turn. It happens very rare tho. Usually when taxi speed is abut too high. I was told it was a sim issue, not the tiller, bc my tiller works great in P3D. August 30, 20214 yr I remember asking if anyone got the tiller working sometime last year.. No one responded and the thread fell rather rapidly. If it's true that X-Plane has only had it since XPlane 10, ( and I have no idea whether that is true or not, but I'll take your word for it) then thats 19 years after release of the sim. If P3D has had it since Version 4 (again I'll take your word for it) that's 7 years after release. You may have a bit of waiting yet to do in MSFS2020 🙂 G System specs...
