These days, if you glance at the driver update notes, you'll notice what's really going on with these updates. They are adding more games to the "Optimize" feature, and they have specific updates to handle all sorts of crazy gaming hardware setups (various display technologies, etc). When a hot new game releases, you can be sure a driver will come out that does something with RTX or DLSS for that specific game. It's a leap of logic to think that they are bit-twiddling in C code to get you 22% more FPS in driver 1.2.123456 over 1.2.123457 in some edge case in MSFS2020. Or that their quality control process just happened to miss that tiny case that is causing you to CTD. It's possible, of course. It's just highly unlikely a new minor version driver from NVidia is going to do that.

September 1, 20214 yr 471.68 and likely this one are actually improving the general landing light artifacts and complete malfunction of lights in one eye on HMDs (well, for me) introduced in some earlier version. The issue is still there for strobes tho (weird). Since the SU5 stability issues are very diverse, random and some apparently depending on time and location (and some of them are likely not related to SU5 at all), any generalized observations/impressions on something allegedly fixing them should likely be taken with several grains of salt, aspirin, several days of curing and some thorough re-testing. 😉 Edited September 1, 20214 yr by Captain Nuts
