September 6, 20214 yr The reason I bought the Premium Deluxe version of MSFS was for the C172 with steam gauges and it's quite good.
September 6, 20214 yr I really like the Steam gauge 172. It's got to be one of the best default aircraft in the sim - although maybe not strictly 'default' if you count it as being in the premium pack. I also like the Bagolu bush version of this. Both are a couple of planes I fly quite frequently and enjoy - no major issues or omissions with them as far as I am concerned. Haha, really not sure how that happened, but kept submitting and it was not posting. Yep, the yoke and throttles were both very sticky. Never got around to stripping them down and greasing them up. I use TM Airbus stick, Logitech rudder and honeycomb bravo quadrant ! Pretty happy with setup. I also have Yoko Plus yoke but it take tons of space and I use my PC for work. I have used the Saitek yoke for years now after using the CH Products one and it has done very well. I use the Logitech Pedals and they are better than the CH ones which I wore out, mainly because of the spacing between the feet. CH was very narrow. While I am sure that the expensive ones are great, the Saitek more nearly matches my finances and needs. John Wingold

I have been using it for many years now, more precisely the combination of Cessna Yoke/Pedals/TrimWheel and TPM (with the Cessna product range no longer continued by Logitech). The Cessna Yoke has the big advantage it can be turned by 90 degree to the right and left. The combo works as such, and actually has been working for more than 10 (12?) years now with nearly daily use for an hour or so, which is probably better than you would expect from such a relatively cheap gear. Once I had to reinsert a peg in the yoke which became loose, but that's all. My main complain is the slack around the middle position around elevation as well as aileron axis which might even grow over time. With respect to MSFS all gear was recognized but not preconfigured under MSFS, probably, because MS/Asobo don't find it worth to support abandoned gear. Thus, I had to assign axes/knows one by one. This isn't an issue with the "normal" Logitech yoke. I am a (nearly) pure GA pilot, but personally I wouldn't fly a Cessna with a joystick. On the other hand, I have an TM Airbus Stick which I use for e.g. the Robin (or the choppers). I probably would have substituted the yoke (and maybe pedals) but I use a hardware panel https://michael-basler.net/Beyondwork/flight_simulation_big.jpg which has cutouts exactly for the Cessna yoke. Anything else doesn't fit. There are more recent panels with cutouts for the Honeycomb (e.g. here https://flightvelocity.com/collections/complete-flight-sim-panel-kits) but I am not yet in the mood to scrap all my gear right now. I just flew the RW yesterday and it’s too bad they can’t engineer force feedback on the yoke and pedals, and adjust on the basis of the aircraft you are flying. I actually spoke to the owner of CH Products about 15 or so years ago when the force feedback joysticks started hitting the market. It never materialized. I am just wondering if it is time to upgrade my yoke and pedals. I am using CH Products. They are probably 20 years old. Anybody using the Logitech Saitek yoke and pedals? Or have any suggestions? Thanks! Brunner has exactly that... pony up some cash though.. Les O'Reilly
