Stutters on the Ground

Featured Replies

Prior to the last update I had great performance on the ground with no stutters and everything being very fluid.  After yesterday's update the sim is an absolute slide show on the ground with FPS of 1 or less.  Once the plane gets in the air the sim runs great with no stutters and FPS locked at 30.  My system is a I9 10900K, 64 GB RAM and RTX 3090 with 24 gb video memory.  It happens with every plane and an empty community folder.  Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this?

Thanks.

Seems like you and a few others are also experiencing the same exact problems. Not sure what the cause is. Hope you guys manage to pinpoint the cause of it.

ASUS ROG Maximus Hero XII ▪︎ Intel i9-10900K ▪︎ NVIDIA RTX 3090 FE ▪︎ 64GB Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro ▪︎ Windows 10 Pro (21H1) ▪︎ Samsung 970 EVO Pro 1TB NVME SSD (OS Drive) ▪︎ Samsung 860 EVO 2TB SATA SSD ▪︎ Seagate 4TB SATA HDD ▪︎ Corsair RMx 850W PSU

Yep, same hear, just made a first flight with the new update. Not so smooth on the ground that one would hope...

My sim has been smooth as eggs on the ground but so far I haven't tested it in heavy photogram areas. Maybe it's related to their servers being hammered. Sometimes that can happen. This sim is heavily dependent on the internet in ways we don't even realize, I suspect. My fps on the ground actually increased and with terrain cache on ultra, I can pan around like crazy with no stutters.

I thought it might be the servers....I was connected to USA East with 52ms.  I thought in the past it was more like 21-22ms?

I have the same problem since WU6 -- severe stutters on the ground at the start of a flight, but excellent performance once in the air (60 FPS locked). This occurs even in non-photogrammetry areas. For what it's worth, the problem is less severe at London City than in rural areas with no photogrammetry. Go figure.

I have the same problem, I have just reinstalled Windows to the latest version, and installed the latest drivers for my hardware, right now I'm about to reinstalled the basic mandatory version of the game, and when I'm done I will try to start up the game with only keyboard and mouse to rule out any errors that may occur with additional hardware, I will report when I'm done.

Can you give an example of an airport your sim has worked smooth as eggs on the ground? I would like to rule out every possible problem with this strange bug.

TLPC with the custom scenery from FSDG. This scenery used to tank my fps to below 30 before but I'm pushing 40 fps now. this is with a GTX1070 at 1080p. And yes, when i get up in the air, my fps increase further.

You do not have a proposal for a standard airport instead? I don't want to install any add-on right now.

Well I flew to TFFF and didn't have issues there either. No addons at that airport,

I'd love to get an answer to this issue too. I have it since the update to SU5. Whenever I load a new plane or livery at any given airport, it takes the sim some twenty seconds, before the stutter fest finally stops (my specs are in my signature).

Any attempt to stretch fuel is guaranteed to increase headwinds

that's a normal behavior. it's loading data from Azure.

It seems like the stuttering starts after a certain speed on takeoff.  At taxi speeds it is smooth, but as you accelerate the stuttering starts until the plane leaves the ground.

I can report that my first test with a fresh Win10 install and only vanilla game + keyboard and mouse worked, no stuttering at all, even at Ultra, now I shall continue to install premium and deluxe + all world updates, and if that work I will continue to install my USB peripherals, I've got some hope back now.
