If you know the place (folder) that looping file is being downloaded into, then what I would do is to sort the files in that folder by date and then find the one which completed right before the looping file. And delete or perhaps move that previous file to the desktop. And then retry the update.

This was suggested way back months ago and one time it worked for me when the same file was trying to complete being downloaded over and over for a long long time. It cured the problem for me instantly. And the rest of the update all came down fine after that.

I've been trying deleting file. I even uninstalled completely MSFS several time, but can't go pass third file/folder it tries to download in very beginning. I can't even get to 1% download 😞

Yes, everything up to date. In fact I went over MSFS installation tutorial 1-3 to make sure I didn't miss anything. Whatever I have done have not affected download ! lol Stuck in a loop on the same file/folder

Maybe try limiting your speed. That seemed to have worked in the past with download issues.

Also for whoever is getting ctd, make sure to check the windows performance tab to see what is being loaded with the FlightSimulator.exe file. There is a thread about capture one being a cause. In my case it was loading 4 files which was causing crashes. I have renamed those files and they no longer load. No more ctd. I've also noticed that another file from windows defender is being loaded. So far it has not caused any problem though.

Thanks! I install netlmiter, but it didn't change much. It seems like a problem no Asobo server side. There are people on MSFS forum that have similar issue right now. Hopefully it will be fixed soon.

I had the same problem after installing the Ambitious pilots Pushback app version 1.31 I removed it from the community folder, and no more CTDs, I put it back, and three CTDs on launch in a row. I keep version 1.30, and installed that, and now everything back to normal  This is with the DC6 which is all I am flying now.

I am using that version with no issues.

Your CTD may have more than a single cause.

We are all connected..... To each other, biologically...... To the Earth, chemically...... To the rest of the Universe atomically.

I recently reinstalled win 10 complete new reinstall and reinstall msfs without any add ons and still have not added any.

my rig is more than capable than running this and I still ctd som, etimes 3 times in a row and even on the world map...

So in my conclusion its msfs not loading properly from the start but not buggin out till you try to fly it... I think its entirely a loading error and MS's fault and has nothign to do with anything we are doing or have added.

There you go! A word from MSFS

[KNOWN ISSUE] Download loops
Hello everyone, the team aware of an issue impacting downloads (loops). We are investigating.

That's good news from MSFS.

Eventually they may decide to have 2 ways to download. With more internal checks and verifications at each step of their download in the slower method.

All these companies know how to make an almost foolproof update system. But it would be slower and MSFS update sizes are huge. So I'm guessing that's why they use the system they do, because it is much faster.
