yes, Heligoland or Helgoland in german, which was later renamed into Legoland.

We all see that turning the knobs on the gauges and the autopilot affects the flight, but not like we might expect. But no worries, I'm sure Chock will sort the autopilot for us.

LOL.  As I said to a friend last night..  it's got a basic autopilot in it.. it's called trim..  learn to use it 🙂

Mmmmh....15 euros is ok for this, but not one euro more. Sounds are imho mediocre, and in level flight the elevators are deflected all the way up. Needs quite some work.

typical pilot error , i say.

that it was a N@zi plane, which gives you some idea of how little some people know about things when they come out with nonsense like that.

except that the Ju52 was the "Führer"'s  Hit-ler preferred private plane of which he had 3, until replaced by the more modern Focke Wulf FW200. He nearly got killed in a Ju52 on an election campaigning tour in heavy fog and extremely low clouds when his personal pilot Hans Baur tried to meander the Ju52 between the chimneys outside the city of Nuremberg. He describes how they nearly touched the tip of a chimney in zero visibility because the Fuehrer had urged him to continue the flight nevertheless.

"he had obtained his first private aeroplane, a Junkers Ju 52 with registration number D-2600 (Werk Nr. 4021), in 1933, after becoming German Chancellor. The same registration number continued to be used for all aircraft used by the Fuehrer, even during the war years. The Ju 52 was named Immelmann II after the First World War pilot Max Immelmann. Baur was personally selected by the Fuehrer to be his official pilot in 1933 and was consequently released from service by Luft Hansa"

Had Baur diverted only a few feet left or right on this flight, history would have taken a different direction. But miraculously the Ju52 landed safely and the rest is history.

The Fuehrer gave him, Hans Baur, a brand new Mercedes, (a GPS would have been more useful - as in the MSFS version 😊).

more details in Hans Baur's autobiography: "Between Heaven and Earth with the Mighty." (not to be confused with the Allmighty) 😊

On the other hand I don't like it. It's half baked product. Suicidal AI, not working autopilot. Really what is a point to have airliner that can't do long haul. Just to fly around airport until your hands got numb? No thanks!

Seems like obvious things are missing. But yeah it cheap and visuals are pretty good.

It can do medium haul you just have to "fly it"   Depending on load she can get you 900 miles.   At cruise speed that's probably 4 1/2 hours of flight time.  I can think of lot's of places to fly to that are within 900 miles of each other but to your point, what's the point of having an add-on you can't just throw the A/P on and sit back and let the plane do the work for 8 hours.

You know some people see no point in that and would rather have their hands go numb flying a plane right...   And herein lies "the point" which is just because it's not for you does not mean it does not hold interest for others.

And there we go, another person completely missing the point and ignoring the history of the aeroplane and its maker. The fact that Adolf used a Ju52 makes it a plane used by a N@zi, not a N@zi plane. The N@zis, and specifically their Air Ministry scumbag Erhard Milch, accused Hugo Junkers, who was a notable pacifist and whose company designed and built the Ju52 (and this occurred before the N@zis got to power), of being a traitor because he refused to help them build up their secret Luftwaffe, and this was one of their first actions when they got to enough power to be able to do it. As a result, they put Hugo Junkers under house arrest and forced him to relinquish control of the company, and his patents and products, including the Ju52. They did this by threatening both he and his wife, which just goes to show you what a bunch of douchebags they were. All that stress drove Hugo to his grave less than a year later when he was still under house arrest. So no, the Ju52 was absolutely not a 'N@zi plane', far from it if you actually regard these events, it was in fact built by someone who was fervently against the N@zis, who stole it off him and killed him.

Adolf used a Ju52 on his tours because it was the plane available to use, it being Lufthansa's main type. It could have been a DC-3 for all he cared about the matter, and in any case, those aeroplanes had a derivative of the Pratt and Whitney Hornet radial engine made by BMW, so by your logic that makes Pratt and Whitney, and BMW, N@zi engine makers. Best not wear a Hugo Boss suit either, they made Wehrmacht uniforms in WW2. 😉

To some if it flew the N@zi flag and was used by the N@zi's it is forever assimilated with them.  It is no different than some who even today will not purchase a Mercedes.  Ironic as reciprocity made the Mercedes the taxi of choice in Israel LOL.

Do I agree with them, no, are they historically correct that these were "tools" used by the N@zi's, yes and for some, that is enough.  Was it designed specifically for the German war machine, no, very little was in fact,  but for some the imagery is enough for permanent association.  I understand that even though it is not factually correct.  It is a purely emotional response.

I was not aware of the story behind Hugo Junkers, that is fascinating.  Thank you for the knowledge this morning!!

You can get her to cruise at 200MPH ground speed (320kmh ?)

Oh my... what a surprise this kind of discussion comes up. 😄 Well, maybe a plane like the DO-27 would've represented (also a less crime-laden post-war) aviation history for the D-A-CH region better than anything else and it would've been the first big(-ish) taildragger utility bushplane on the Marketplace but I (kind of) can guess why they picked the Junkers clunker: Lack of imagination, "not another SEP plane", whatever....

I hope the multiplayer skies over Germany will soon stop looking like the Luftwaffe is gathering paratroopers for deployment over Greece 1940.. except they all look like Airbuses because I really don't have a purpose for or any interest in a trimotor and didn't buy it, and 8 out of 10 multiplayer planes are Airbuses anyway. 🙂

No, I apologize my math was off LOL...  figure ~150 mph cruise speed with the light load required for anything beyond 700 miles and it would indeed be closer to 6 hours of flight time.  The range/payload numbers seem hard to lock down on this one if the +1,000km range was with max load or empty load.

Nope, just me being sloppy and wrong 🙂

What is the actual cruise speed LOL?  I've read anywhere from 120mph fully loaded to 177mph which didn't specify if it was empty...  I guess with all the variants there were vastly differing performance numbers?

I skip this one, sure she's beautiful and classic, but I can only see myself flying her for a couple of days before she's parked for good, so I think I'm buying me a nice meal instead.

you are preaching to the choir here, as I quoted his private pilot Hans Baur's memoirs tells you I read more than 1 book about the subject.

"It could have been a DC-3 for all he cared about the matter,"

yeah right, just like NASA could have used a russian SOJUS rocket instead of Apollo/Gemini/MercurySaturn 😊
