That's just the library I think.  You probably have the payware routes etc which actually shows ships.

Yeah that's the freeware very small preview area.  I'm guessing Yoyo has the payware version with more areas.  The library was free afaik unless something just changed.

If he got the payware, it probably already has that as a part of the core product?

That product is sold at both places, so I would assume if he got it through ORBX Direct, then that one doesn't apply.

A lot of products are sold through multiple distribution platforms.

It's quite simple.  One is free and that's just the library you need to produce the ships in the addons.  If you don't by the addons you don't get the ships.  Try just downloading the library and see what you see.

These are/were free.  Look at the bottom where I placed the red rectangle.  I can't seem to find them on ORBX's site anymore.

Confusing at best then.

The core library of all the models and textures is very large, so they only want you to have to download this once. The multiple payware products that places all these models for you along routes and in marinas are just the text files telling the sim where they go, and are very small.

Sad tho that their EULA doesn't allow you to release free scenery that references their models (references, not includes. I did not distribute their stuff). I tried it, linked back to their payware and got my scenery taken down off flightsim.to until I removed the references. So much for trying to help push their product

Honestly, this seems a bit confusing to me.

Exactly how many pieces/ payware-downloads will this concept be sliced into before something approaching worldwide traffic is a reality via this product?

And importantly, why should anyone be interested, when there apparently exists a much less complex but more comprehensive freeware available?

Though I admit the Seafront ships night lighting is much sexier (If probably less realistic)

Hi,

I'm very confused, too!

I have Orbx Seafront living world installed, but, do I have to install the Core Library from the Marteplace?

Regards.

I think the problem is that the MSFS marketplace cannot handle installing a seperate common library in conjuction with a scenery - I know a few scenery designers have asked for this to change.  Orbx Central handles this automatically.

i just checked Seafront simulations official page and there is a new statement:

Marketplace PC

Microsoft have now restored the missing Visual Effects Library to Enhanced AI and published a new version 1.3.1 for PC users. The workaround of using Vessels Core is no longer required.

But i am still confused as i  bought from Orbx  Vessels-Enhanced AI + Vessels Global Shipping so which core is no longer required? i guess the one from obrx which don't exist anymore ( and for some reason i never had it)

Hi All

There is a dependency difference between the two global products and our line of coastal sceneries.

Coastal Products (All require the free Vessels Core Library which contains the models)

Vessels: Anguilla, St Martin & St Barts

Vessels: Channel Islands

Vessels: UK South East

Vessels: The Balearics will also fall into this category when released

Global Products

Enhanced AI (can be used standalone - does not require the Vessels Core Library)

Global Shipping (requires Enhanced AI. It re-uses some of the models)

Edit 12th April 2022

All of our sceneries require the Vessels Core Library with the exception of Enhanced AI. This change was introduced with version 1.6.0 of Vessels Global Shipping, which previously required the installation of Enhanced AI. This change allows Xbox users to experience the Global Shipping scenery (as they can't currently use Enhanced AI) and reduces the overall cost to obtain Global Shipping.

The Vessels Core Library is a large model library that underpins most of our sceneries. It won't provide any scenery by itself and its always been free. We've done this to stop people needing to download and store several GB of models many times over and also to streamline our update process. I.E. we only have to update 1 model library instead of patching in updates to every one of our coastal sceneries.

I hope this helps clarify the setup. We will be publishing have published an installation guide on our site that better explains this.

Regards
