Some trail effects when moving around

Featured Replies

Hello,

When there are clouds behind scenes I have seen some trail effects when moving around. Is this how render engine works? Or a bug? For example like this video;

I haven't seen that myself.  AMD or Nvidia graphics?

Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

Intel 14900K in a Z790 motherboard with water cooling, RTX 4080, 32 GB 6000 CL30 DDR5 RAM, W11 and MSFS on Samsung 980 Pro NVME SSD's.  Core Isolation Off, Game Mode Off.

Nvidia 1080ti, latest driver installed.

Same here since day 1!

GTX 2060 Super

It is more present with (dark) clouds, but you can see it everywhere.

Annoying, but I try to ignore it. Haven't found a setting or driver which helps.

EDIT: Searched a while ago and found out it is maybe called "ghosting". But found no solution

Hmmm...  Not nice.  Hopefully it's something that DX12 might solve.  (not long to wait now).

I have never done that kind of camera panning as I fly from the cockpit, or a camera view close to the plane normally - probably why I have never seen that effect.

Been there since long time ago, but it´s more prevalent after SU6

Ah!  Yes.  I have seen this actually.

Sometimes the shadow of my aircraft leaves a ghosting trail on the ground when I am close to the ground (e.g. when it appears to be moving over the ground quickly).

I can't see then attending to this in the near future, as they will release DX12 first to see if that clears up some of the graphical artefacts.

Always been there. Watch the front of the cowling, or the wing as it moves over the terrain. Same thing.

I saw this too twice after SU6. It was when changing views inside the cockpit. Never seen it before SU6.

Weren't they talking about fixing that recently? I just thought they had already done that in SU6

Have you tried to turn off antialiasing gamma correction in nVidia control panel?

7800X3D | 2x32 GB DDR5-6000 CL32 | RTX 5080 | Alienware OLED 34" | 1 Gbps fiber

Also seen this but more noticeable since SU6 especially under dark clouds.

Good idea! Worth a shot. Global and application settings, in case it's on in both.
